Dangers of Space Legs ?

I'm looking forward to camping the station entrance to Shin with a phased plasma sniper rifle. (in the 40 watt range)

"Ooh these space legs are pretty coo..." HEADSHOT! DOUBLE KILL!

Oh, a serious answer? I'd imagine that you'd only be allowed to walk in certain areas, and there'd be the same invisible forcefield that's used around atmospheric planets stopping you from wandering everywhere.

I lost my ship in Space Engineers, but thankfully I just had to reload to my last save. I was outside working on hull repairs when my magnetic boots lost their grip. Unfortunately my ship was going at full speed, so when I fell off it quickly sped away from me (my jetpack being set to "FA-on" which brought me to a stop instead of allowing me to drift along side). Moral of the story is to turn off "FA" to the jetpack when working on a ship in motion, just in case!

Oh, and I've been shot by enemy ship turrets while on space walk. That's no fun.

If we get space legs, will it be possible to engineer them? Now we'll need new items: animal meat, fresh fruits and vegetables, power shoes (rare item found only in Colonia - need 20 of them - ship allocation is 5 per visit). Allows you to run from that dragon you found on that atmospheric planet you can now land on. Makes you run faster than the dwarf.

Seriously, using space legs to walk into a room full of men in dark suits plotting the overthrow of your local government might be a problem. Best to have those engineered legs when that happens.

So... Space Legs everyone says they want them, sure they seem good but, are they all they're cracked up to be.
What do you think would be the greatest danger (or the dumbest thing you would accidentally/on purpose do) if you had spacelegs.

Me I'd totally get out to stretch my legs and lock myself out of the ship... guaranteed
Never wanted Spacelegs and never said so.
So much development time for a game concept I left behind with Counter Strike.
So the greatest danger is that Elite Dangerous as a game is derailed into something I never wanted to play anymore.

I can see it now.

Mission Board: We have a delicate mission which requires both stealth and guile. We need a qualified pilot with the ability to fly large ships, possibly under fire and the ability to evade both station security as well as other combat capable ships in pursuit. You will enter the station, locate a ship, an Anaconda owned by Commander Bigmaec, board the ship and prepare it for departure while avoiding both station security as well as the owner of the ship. You will steal this commanders ship and deliver it to Shinrata Dezra authorities. Being apprehended at any time prior to acquiring the the target vessel, or being destroyed before delivering the target vessel to it's destination will void this mission, leading to stiff fines and a bounty on you head if you survive. You may be killed if you are detected while fleeing the station by hostile security forces, or those who seek the bounty once the ship is stolen and in route to the mission directed destination. Successful completion of this mission will be rewarded by a percentage of the value of the ship and the engineering it contains.

This is a Federation mission offered by the Dark Wheel Faction stationed at Shinrata Dezra.

Elite pilots only, with years of experience in bounty hunting or piracy only need apply.

o7...
And all of this while the mission impossible theme plays. Glorious.
Except that you want to steal my Conda

The other big issue will be the giant lore vortex and how we handle death outside ships- is it going to be:

Clones and personality download

You are a robot + AI being trained by the Pilots Fed

Its a game

Your head has a micro FSD like your chair does

It was cats all along
I would go for:
Death isn't death, you are just incapacitated. When that happens a beacon is turned on and a ship come to the rescue where you wake up at your nearest station with your ship docked (they have towed it back or it was in a transporter). You will need to pay for medical, recovery and ship transport fees before being allowed to leave.

Brother in LATEX, we will meet us in this room. Hopefully you don't want to, that i need to deliver a package of of biowaste out of that room! 😆

I wonder what would happen if I jumped into that geyser?

What gravitation? What Temperatur? What Day/Year-Time? Will there be an Heat-Protected-FD™ Pilotsuite? If they do it right...(think about in what year Elite: Dangerous plays...!), we should walk into a 0,01g Planet-Geyser, let us shoot straight up to the space to 5km until Flight-Assist turn on and bring us down(not deactiveateble). This would be my dream. 😀
