Dashboard planet hologram reference

You show a water world with 156,000 and 695,000
I just got a first, Terrestial Water World" in Smojai ES-K B8-3. It is C1
I got 255,789 and a bonus of 127,894
can you please explain the difference?

First discovery bonus is always 50% of the planet value, this is something else than the terraforming bonus.

The values in the reference were determined by calculating the average body size of each type in EDDB, and running these averages through the formulae of MattG

Bonus payout for a terraformable body in the reference is based on the average body size and a 100% terraforming bonus. Unfortunately, sometimes the full 100% terraforming bonus is not not rewarded, and the logic behind this has not been found yet. See the Exploration value formulae thread for a long discussion about this.

In your case: you probably received about 156,000 for the WW, and unfortunately, a terraforming bonus of only about 100.000, for a total of 255,789 (for the exact values, run the planet data through the formulae of MattG).
First discovery bonus: 50% of
255,789 = 127,894

I too have received payments that quite differ from the figures on the chart. I imagine it's because what I'm scanning is much smaller than the average used to calculate the payouts on the chart.

Is it at all possible to add on to the chart the average size of each body, used to calculate the respective payout?

Is it at all possible to add on to the chart the average body size used in the calculation of the payout, next to each respective body?

For example, it would be great to know that to get around 156k for a water world it would need to be around 4x Earth Mass.

The payout is not solely based on mass, so showing the avg mass in the chart might be misleading (and/or lead to even more questions). For more information on this the following thread is a great resource: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/232000-Exploration-value-formulae

From there and as an example I'll xpost this img, showing the wide range of payouts for any given mass (covering WW and HMC).
