Newcomer / Intro Dashed lines in Galaxy Map

Some connecting lines between systems are solid, and some are dashed. Why is that? Does that mean I'm going to run out of fuel or something??? Trying to plot my way to the nearest ALLIANCE system (55 LY away!) and I wanted to make sure I don't get stranded forever...
