Engineers data link scanning

So you have to activate all the data links in the required time? I did this and still received nothing, im guessing im doing something wrong? it was a small base with 2 data links then the main one, I scanned all 3 and nothing happened.
any help much appreciated.

There's normally 3 "pylon" data towers to activate. There's often another data terminal that doesn't look like the the pylons. Those don't seem to have any bearing on the data link process. Does the timer still count down after you think you have finished?

Thought I'd finally worked it out went to scan the last data point and it said "data point compromised" ?

And whats the point in the timer to scan them? u have like 1 mili second gap befrore scan fails.
