I would like to add my thanks to the chorus. It is greatly appreciated that DB and Micheal (and I expect a few others) to take the time to communicate back with us testers. I think it speaks volumes and I hope that DB find more opportunities to once again engage with us.
I do think the format needs to be different. Some form of video feed with a more classical, TV like interview format is all I can think of. I would certainly allow more questions to be asked and answered. But it would be nice if the question were taken live from a thread - there is some to be said for live events that just wouldn't be there if the questions were posted a day or two before the recording. But if that is the best use of David's time then I'll still be happy.
Please don't take my little criticism the wrong way. My wish is that we can find a better way for all to get more out of events like this.

Thanks for taking the time to do this, some great answers. Still boggles my mind how incredibly ambitious some of this stuff is, but I'm sure people said the same about previous Elites
That was excellent and given the game is funded by 'backers' I do think it should be almost beholden of the company or a rep to keep us informed...we dont need a game designed by committee of course...but it is very good to hear from 'the team'.
I wouldnt get to hung up on the format...good idea to have a questions post, then host in another thread. No problem that thread gets noisy, just summarise the important conversation afterwords.
I am disappointed there was no explanation as to 'how' the beta will be run...what is the likely cycle for patches, how will we know what things are coming next.
Even if right now the answer is we dont really know....we are focusing internally and arent able to manage the comm's yet...bear with us....or its every 3 weeks we aim to do a drop and we will tell ya whats in it the day we drop it....just be good to know is all.

And so the future is so very much closer than it used to be. One day Giant Owls shall fly above the forests. Well, maybe not exactly Giant Owls. But planets with vegetation and hints of life. That is some very healthy ambition right there. I was about to say crazy, but that could be taken as a negative, even when used as a positive.

At the start, when the game is initially released I guess the odds of meeting another player is quite high. I'm wondering though what the odds would be once we all spread out ? Can't remember the exact number of stars, but with a large amount of the systems containing planets I wonder if we will ever see anyone else down the line...unless of course we group up.

I still wanna know what his fav beer is.. or at least what the majority of the team's fav is.. maybe i'll send a couple cases their way.
