db scout a reason to play small ships.

I've put my Clipper to bed at the moment and really enjoying the Cobra again. So maneuverable and so much more fun in a fight..plus cheap as chips to replace. The last few days of pew pew in RES has been the best fun I've had in here in ages.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the imperial eagle is like. Really enjoying my DBS in the meantime :)

I find myself switching back and forth - not so fond of the Diamondback myself (although I use it as a Taxi and yes - it's fun to fly), but I got a Courier for when I'm in the mood for some Jet style flying. Eventually, I get tired of its anemic damage output and switch back to the Conda or Python - rinse and repeat.

Haven't really flown my FdL in weeks, because the jump range gives me migraine each time I think about undusting it (not a complaint - just doesn't suit my personal playing style).

So got fdl out and it felt broken after scout tried to turn wow it doesnt. Different play style and yes it takes thing quicker but im shelving it. Might try the python again and yes it will be addictive the dps it dishes.

But scout in a res. It just handles so well. Accepting the poor dps. It just fun to dogfight rather there's an eagle. Oh wait was in the python.

Make the fdl handle like a sciut and that would be op.

It's horrible for pvp because it has no mass lock (even tho it's useless) and has low dps to counter SCB gameplay

horrible for PVE because it's dps is so low. There is no point to not bringing the highest dps ship because the NPC's can never kill you anyway. It takes 30 seconds in an FDL takes 2 minutes in a DBS, with less risk on the FDL front as well.

The only way small ships become viable is if they have roles - most people are rich and rebuy means nothing.

This is the best ship for PvP, especially in Wing combat with all in wing are Stealth Scouts, taking turns going silent and firing. No one will ever get focused. Even against other wings of 4. I've been documenting our success in it to demonstrate how successful it is both in Solo PvP and as Wings.

The stealth scout can fight and survive against FDL and below. While the Stealth Diamondback Explorer, can fight between a Clipper and a Python.

With bigger ship when it goes wrong I just bail. With scout I put armour on and just push it. Last two missions have had the canopy blown. Silent running appears a bit hit and miss. The last conda never lost lock on me. But even with malfunctioning thruster and modules it went down. Thats an experience im not risking with a 4 mill rebuy.

Breath of fresh air in the game.

I had the Diamondback Explorer for a while. It was indeed a good ship. But, as you pointed out, the canopy on it seems to be its weakest link. I don't remember how many times I had to bail out of a fight to run to the nearest station after my canopy was breached. Everything else was working, just the canopy. It happened quite a few times and was getting a bit frustrating.

Thanks for sharing. I have been searching for youtube vids to give ideas. I previously saw your vids on youtube that got me to wanting to try new things with the scout. Nice videos keep them coming.

I ll have to find some uk players to try to wing up with. They look devastating as a wing.

Cant wait to try different loadouts. Love finding sss. Esp the gold trap with condas.

Well - It's not the handling - I think it's a lot of fun to fly and imho, it compares to a bigger Viper - lots of boom and zoom and strafing needed to make it shine. For me it's just the jump range and the powerplant - certainly nothing I'd value 20 times higher than the Courier or 100 times the Scout. Not asking for nerfs or buffs - apparently many enjoy it the way it is.

Anyway - what I meant to say it's well worth it to fly a smaller ship once in a while for added challenge and that new ship smell (especially as there haven't been any interesting big ships added since the Python and that's been a while).
