Powerplay Dear Devs: please work on PP for next update

While I'm not in a hurry for pp to be overhauled or updated, or suddenly prioritized over everything else in development I wouldn't mind if FD had plans to improve or add to it sometime.

Also, since Beyond 3.2, fortification in pp got an indirect "update" with the fsd booster where now even with the c3 booster , the number of jumps needed to fortify from a power headquarters to a control system has been reduced by a significant factor.

I don't mean to start the who debate again but what was the result of the open only debate?

I was of the opinion that the only way to save powerplay was it should be open only with the Powerplay Modules and benefits also being available via tech brokers (with the appropriate amount of player effort) for those that couldn't or won't access open mode and wondered if this was the general conciseness?

The result was a lot of people fearing slanted surfaces being too slippery, and FD saying they have all the info they need for the future.

What will happen? No-one knows.
 
Can you link to that proposal?

I do not think that making a "new pp" be another
layed on layer on the galaxy makes sense.
That disconnects gameplay and makes "new pp"
be the same as current pp, a game of its own.
It should be all tied together and every action
should be considered.
A single game we play, with all things connected,
economy, politics and such.

With basing it around squadrons, you have real
gang warfare, as there is no arbitrary pledge required
to be participating, squadrons act just as a tool to gather
people with the same will to pledge and represent,
but every CMDR pledged or not, will participate this way.

After all, basing the "new pp" on BGS via squadrons
solves the problem of meaningless PvP.
If you are in a squadron and pledge to a minor faction,
the game can handle you as a member of that faction
regarding being attacked, robbed or destroyed.
Thus giving PvP leverage that has been asked for.

I think what you're after is something similar to what I suggested; in this thread.
I didn't know that Squadrons was due to be released, or that it allowed you to pledge to minor factions... so already half of what I suggested is already there... the difference now is replacing the Powerplay system with what they've currently got as Squadrons, and allowing galactic domination to take place via Squadrons.

The whole "people in solo" thing shouldn't be an issue though.
