(yes, we have a camel for every season)
A camel who questions the wisdom of his king to remarry, and is executed for it? Poor Camel.

No, a competitive CG, where one side pushed Insta transfer and the other side pushes delayed transfer.
Ok. Interesting. On the one hand it puts the community in charge of the ultimate decision - if the CG is communicated properly ahead of time and run fairly without bugs/issues/magic intervention. No, a competitive CG, where one side pushed Insta transfer and the other side pushes delayed transfer.
I would take my 18ly Corvette out there just to prove the pointCue Frontier placing said CG 6000ly away![]()
See I don't quite understand why ship transport taking time would even introduce more timesinks. It would half the time it needs currently (only one way, as you not have to go there first to go back then) and would be not done by you, which means you don't need to spent any time at all on the Transport it just happens while you play the Game.In that sense then instant ship transportation is, in a way, the straw that broke the immersion camel's back for some people. But equally so the somewhat mobile/freemium game-esque 'wait for X number of minutes for your item to arrive' would also be a final straw on the time-sink camel's back (yes, we have a camel for every season) for other people.
I think FD have taken serious note of the fact that many people's version of playing ED is to put on a movie on Netflix while keeping ED in their peripheral vision for the occassional couple of minutes of gameplay - course correction, menu navigation, etc. It's not how I play the game but in my opinion having too many time sink activities is enough of an issue that needs tackling.
True, it would actually shorten the time it takes to go and fetch ships yourself. I can't argue with you there as I agree but as I like to play Al Pacino's-ah-devil's advocate I'll bring up that instant transportation would eliminate the time factor all together, which is the plus factor for people that feel like ED has too many time sinks and would like at least one of those activities remedied. For example someone that plays an hour at most when they do play - that person would prefer if they didn't have to either wait 15 to 25 minutes for their ship transfer or spend their entire hour transporting their own ship to a location.See I don't quite understand why ship transport taking time would even introduce more timesinks. It's a balancing act. Or more specifically a jug filling exercise the way I see it. The water level has to be kept at a specific level in each jug so that it doesn't spill out and so that the weight of each jug is relatively equal enough so as not to tip the scales drastically to one side. FD are trying to balance the scales so as to keep everybody relatively happy enough with the immersion vs interactive gameplay argument that is ED.How can the game in its current state even be playable for people? Most irritatiing tough is that before gamescom and Sandro dropping the bomb nobody ever said the game is unplayable without instant ship transport. I mean, maybe someone did, just never saw anybody. I sure as hell have seen lots people saying supercruise has to go away because its a waste of time, interdictions are a waste of time and lots of other stuff that costs much more timethen realistic ship transfer and will still be there after 2.2.
