So I am not good with polls or anything, but I think the best way to settle this whole thing is with a competitive CG.
A long while back there was a CG for huge weapons (which no one, or very few people, knew what the purpose of the CG was at the time, but that’s another issue I don’t want to get into) the idea was that we have a community CG to implement an in-game feature. So how about it? Give us a community CG to implement a more *realistic* ship transfer feature.
I know, and I understand from a design point of view how good instant is on a personal game play level. It makes sense and it gets me into things faster, but it doesn’t feel right. This game is a simulator primarily, and for a simulator to function well the mechanics need to not only function, and allow the person to accomplish a task, but they need to also “feel” right. Feeling and the sense of awe are the primary reason people play.
Give us a CG to prove our point.
