Dear Fdev, 3.0 C&P is Amazing - <3 The Code

Admittedly we at The Code were skeptical of 3.0 Crime and Punishment when it was first announced.

It was all for nothing. FDev, this is an amazing update and we have nothing but respect for your efforts!

Below in this wonderful expose’ by the notorious Code Boss; CMDR Zepode, you can see that we had nothing to fear all along!

Keep up the good work!

Sincerely,

CMDR Fly Auburn

Arrrrrrrgreed! Between engineering balances and QoL improvements this update has me looking forward to coming home to Elite again. Feel like a proper criminal and engineering is easier to understand and navigate!

No doubt there's improvements to be made but can't wait to see what this year holds for Elite.

Ooh! Juicy bounty dude! Now that's a criminal's bounty right there.

See... nothin' to worry about ;)

Even PvP piracy aside, I love the new C&P, too. It adds some great dynamics to the PvE game. Great job, FD!

I mostly agree, but I do wish that they would revisit the size.of bounties. As I have said, just adding multipliers based on System Security Level & Repeat Crimes would be enough for me, along with a 25% "cleaning" fee.

You heard it guys! Straight from the Captain of The Code himself, CMDR Capn Murica! See you all at the next trade CG! Remember, compliant traders live and keep most of their cargo, all others walk the plank! YARRRRR!!!!

Video stops short of the bit where he pays off the bounties.

So my understanding is that now this Pirate CMDR needs to be based in an anarchy system, and that in High Sec systems he's going to experience the heavy hand of the ATR.

Doing the crime is fun.
Doing the time is a chore.
Did I miss something?

I think lot of numbers will need some shuffling around.

What's the safe word? :D

You call that piracy? We should be using a tractor beam to get all the cargo and then crushing the ship like a tin can with the pilot still on board, and selling it for scrap.

Fear me for I am the Dread Pirate Roberts!!
Oh.. can I have some of your cargo please?

How much you want?

Hmm, only a little bit I don't want you getting upset.

OP coerced other CMDRs into giving him cargo through use or threat of force. When one CMDR chose not to comply he made good on the threat (and still tried to get some cargo out of it).

Sounds like piracy to me.

Working as intended then. It should be difficult and dangerous to conduct piracy in High Security systems.

In so far as that bounties go - the bounties for theft are negligible. With the kill, OP made good on a threat and now he is a criminal with a respectable bounty.

I don't see the issue here.

Pah, the Code. Once upon a time I liked them, they just stole a bit of gold or whatever. But last time the stole beer from me so now its a feud

He didn't buy and equip a Cutter by stealing 20 cargo canisters at a time. I suspect the gaining of the 500MCr (at least) needed for this ship is where the real piracy was involved.

I don't follow. What does that have to do with the content of the OP's video?

I'm not following here... Are you lot saying the c&p changes are good because they're legitimately good, or just good because they're toothless and make no difference to you?

Trying to figure out how much sarcasm is in this...

I thought all the outlaws were losing their poop over how powerful ATR ships were?

What happened to that?

Do they just not show up unless you've committed genocide in a system or something?
Or do they not follow you after you make your initial getaway?
