Honestly trying to prove the claim is of no concern to me. Do I think its very likely it can be done? Yep. However the purpose for saying it was to show how easy it is to make credits in elite dangerous already. There's already a video of a guy floating around somewhere that made a new account and farmed up an anaconda in 24 hours.
Fair enough, but let's be reasonable. The player who is acquiring an Anaconda/Cutter in 24 hours is not the norm. Is it possible? Maybe. Is it what everyone does and what many people do? Very unlikely. As a result, we can safely assume that those who would aren't the ones we should be focusing on when it comes to a discussion of 'buffs' to income.
there is no need to increase the money... you should not be a billionaire in a week / month
No, you shouldn't be a billionare in a week/month. But at the same time, a well seasoned Bounty Hunter shouldn't be given a mission with a reward of 30k Credits to kill 6 'units'. Part of the experience of Elite is trying to feel immersed in the galaxy that is handed to us; how does one do that when almost every single attempt for that galaxy to interact with us is so incredibly underwhelming that we ignore it entirely.
We'e talking about Game Theory at this point. If a player is given a choice between:
"Go to Z System and kill X units for a reward of Y Credits, + Reputation"
and
"Stay in the current system and go to the local RES/Nav Beacon and kill units for M credits per kill on average, + Reputation"
but M is several times larger than Y, the player will almost never pick the first option.
The second option is both faster and more rewarding. The point at which the player will pick the first option will occur when the rewards of the second option are no longer worth it; ie, when credits no longer matter. That can be a different point in playtime between players but it does mean that, effectively, any bounty hunter wanting a ship larger than a Type 7/Asp Explorer will be taking choice 2 for a very long time.
Revamping the mission system (which is being done in a upcoming update) hopefully would solve the issue, if rewards for missions are buffed to a point that players find that completing them over doing 'grindy' RES Sites are more rewarding (monetarily and otherwise). Doing so, ironically, can also increase the time required for a player to acquire wealth; potentially killing two birds with one stone.
