I haven't flown the clipper in some time. The mining lasers are definitely tighter on the inside than the hardpoints on the wings, so I'm guessing they're on the body or inner wing. Maybe will have to go check my Clipper out again tonight.
Transfer of materials works like this: park your shuttle or your clipper at station A with a shipyard present, and then have the other ship transferred there. Then go mining. Come back to station A, swap ships, travel to platform B and sell. Need a "shuttle" that has as much cargo as you're carrying with the Clipper else you can't swap to it.
This also only transfers stuff you've converted to cargo--it doesn't move fragments, but you can't sell fragments, so no big deal.
Didn't say it wasn't a royal pain in the hindquarters. A python would make this far easier, but if you want top dollar for your mined goods, this is one way to get that done.
