DECLARATION OF WAR against CCN

And here I sit hearing for the first time of Jaques Accord and finding nothing about it. Other than that good luck with your war.

Remember when there was no real conflict out in Colonia, and it was considered an escape from the strife and war of the bubble. Fee from both the Fed/Imp/Alliance conflicts, and a safe retreat from the thargoids?
Good times.

I imagine that the explorers and pioneers that used to call Colonia home have either moved to one of the other deep-space stations, or succumbed to petty faction in-fighting.

I abandoned it as a base the moment it was announced factions would be moving in, I knew then how it would end, the blackness of deep space is dark enough for me, I need no darkness of the heart and conscience to add to it.

The whole Colonia thing is a social experiment, always has been. The war that is now erupting will probably be written up in some pyschology journal.

Not really. This - and it's possible it will be resolved diplomatically before it gets much further - would only be I think the third intentional inter-faction war in Colonia history. For forty-odd player factions stuffed into 70 systems for the last two years, that's pretty good going. Almost everything has been resolved diplomatically ... the second war was caused pretty much entirely by some visitors from the bubble not realising there was a diplomatic backdrop and pushing a faction without realising that the standard bubble invade-consolidate-extend tactics were going to have a very short shelf life ... and the first war got a good write up in Sag Eye a while back - if you read that you can see that neither side really wanted it.

The attempts to separate "explorers" and "faction members" have caused trouble for certain Colonia-focused groups before - there's a minority of explorers who believe you're not a real explorer if you do other things as well - but really, every faction out here is at least part-explorer, because if you want to manage a faction and aren't interested in being 22,000 LY away (and at the time the factions were introduced, with D-rated outfitting, no engineers and no remote workshops) you can get somewhere much less crowded in the Sol bubble. Whether that part-explorer attitude is why diplomacy has generally succeeded, who knows.

Colonia regional traffic is currently about 50-100% more than what it was prior to the addition of the player factions. There's a fair mix of faction workers, explorers and visitors, and people working for the improvement of the region as a whole out here (and lots of people fall into more than one of those categories). A lot of names from the early days I still see around two years later.

at 1 February 3305 CCN started a non-declared war against SEC in TIR (Colonia). They attacked us shameless out of the shadow. The first two days we suffered heavy losses. Then our distress call has been heard by many Commanders and our wings from the bubble arrived. Since we were able to strike successfully back, CCN attacked our home system Kajuku in petty revenge. Kajuku will go to war at 6 February 3305. This is a clear violation of the Jaques accord which says “Home systems are of limits to take-over attempts”.

The rules in detail:

We will not attempt to push another member group from control of their home system.
We will hold a discussion amongst all member groups before voting to add or expel a group. A majority must agree to act.
We will limit PvP to conflict zones, defence, areas pre-announced in open, or pre-arranged combat.
We will maintain Jaques as the ruling faction of Jaques Station. Jaques station is off-limits to conflict.
We will aid others in need if asked, and as our time and resources allow. Humanity must endure.
This as a shameless act of aggression by ignoring agreements.
We call all faction to arms, join the alliance with SEC for pushing the aggressor back. till the minimum influence in their home system Centralis, except or until they surrender.

If you a single commander, you are welcome to join our wings, if you have a full Wing, please receive your strategic and tactical orders from our high command (Teamspeak se-corps.de or Discord)

For CCN, you can contact us via the known diplomatic channel or our teamspeak.

All very nice, but may I suggest one thing?

When using abbreviations such as CCN and SEC, could you write them in full for the benefit of us bystanders and popcorn-munchers? You only need to do it for the first instance, after that you can use the abbreviations as much as you like.

Yeah, this was one of the reasons why I moved away from Jaques Station for good after Frontier decided to 'expand' the region by means of a popularity contest.

Good idea. For those following along from outside Colonia...

SEC: Simple Elite Corps, home system Kajuku, system presence 9, system control 1 (Kajuku), assets 2 (Prince Kajuku's Paradise in Kajuku, Dohler Depot in Tir). A Colonia Expansion Initiative wave 5 faction.

CCN: Colonia Citizen's Network, home system Centralis, system presence 18, system control 2 (Centralis, Tir), assets 3 (Phoenix Harbour and Damask Rose in Centralis, Bolden's Enterprise in Tir). Factional presence obtained through exceptional circumstances route.

The Tir system at the centre of this conflict is home to multiple sites of strategic regional importance
- the controlling station, Bolden's Enterprise, is home to the region's Human Tech Broker and is one of the largest high-tech economies
- the Engineer Marsha Hicks provides upgrades to a wide range of mining equipment and projectile weapons, attracting a high level of passing traffic
- the Tir Research Labs - a scientific installation - are responsible for monitoring the sustainability of the region and recommending development actions to the Council

Due to coincidences of geography, the Tir system remained difficult for player factions to expand into and under the control of its original NPC faction from its establishment in June 3303 until 29 October 3304 when CCN took control of the Bolden's Enterprise station. On 27 January 3305 the SEC took control of the Dohler Depot secondary outpost - and the unusually high influence boost from winning this war caused them to leapfrog CCN into first place. The influences of CCN and SEC then equalised a few days later, and we have this conflict.

I would love to fight for both sides when I actually manage to get there. Colonia Council owes me money, they have pirate problems in Gru Hypue KS-T d3-31, but Gagarin Gate has no contacts panel. Somebody has to pay for a new paintjob and duralium hull plates.
