Decorative light sources should cast light into the environment

All the decorate light sources in the game don't produce any actual light. When you place them next to paths and buildings they don't cast any light onto them. It's really weird seeing that cause I believe the decorate lights we got in the first game made environmental lighting.

The paths need lights as well. I remember the first game having lights on the paths at night.

I noticed this yesterday as I was building a sandbox park at night. I feel like this is a bug, more than feedback. If it's not a bug, then it's great feedback lol.

Also, isn't the innovation center supposed to light up?

Not a big JW fan but I believe that is supposed to be lighting coming out of the top of the innovation center. It could be a bug but I have a feeling it was because of performance issues. I could be wrong. If it's a performance issue we may never see them fix it.

Paths need lights that come on at night as well. It's really weird to see guests just walking around the parks at night. In Planet Coaster you place down street lamps along the paths and then also effects crime in the park I believe.

Noticed this as well! When in the explorer tour at night, its actually hard to see anything through the front window. Its basically like staring into an orb of light + the environment almost isnt catching anything! Indeed this was well done in JWE1 but somehow is not in JWE2. Because of this, nighttime in JWE1 looks way more realistic than in JWE2 somehow. Please devs, can you change this?

In addition: in JWE1, I used lights to light up enclosuremarkers, but somehow in JWE2 this doesnt work (take into account I play in the highest graphic settings). I love JWE2 and its a big improvement from JWE1 in many ways I.m.o. but this I just find weird!

Decorative lights need to cast light into the environment. Paths need lights that come on at night. We need some lights for the park in general. I mean the decorative ones are nice. But they are really only for areas you want to decorate and look nice. They aren't as good as the streetlamps you can get in Planet Coaster.

Definitely the lights do not illuminate the areas around them. The lights should be stronger. The current lights simply glow, but the environment around them stays dark.

Frontier's Cobra engine has....issues with lights in general.
Any Elite Dangeorus player who has sat on the pitch black surface of a planet with a star filling half the sky, but not casting any light because only the other star on the opposite side of the planet is illuminating stuff can tell you this. Not to mention the shadows that a sun can apparently cast THROUGH the hull of your ship.

It's not really all that surprising to see similar problems in JWE2

Funnily enough, after I commented on this thread, someone posted a pic over in the ED forum of decorative lights in that game which have stopped casting light around them

It's like the most recent version of Cobra used in Odyssey and JWE2 just forgot how to do lighting.

The other sources of in game lighting in JWE2 seem to work fine. It's just the decorative lights that don't cast any light into the environment. Lights on buildings and things work fine.
