Deep Core Wing Mining is absolutely broken.

Nope, not as of the last time I tried it a couple weeks back. Though wing double/triple painite and low temp diamond hot spot laser mining still works great.

Have you tried it in the Beta or are you talking about the live game?

Mining

• Fixed case that could lead to the detonation graph not appearing if deep core mining with a wing.
• Fixed a disconnection ("Magenta Krait"), that could occur whilst mining.

Should be fixed with the january update it seems
