Am I in the right group thread for the upcoming trip?

Yes and No. This is the general discussion thread for the exploration group Deep Recon X. The upcoming expedition is not a one-off, like 'Distant Worlds', rather it just the latest in a line of missions our group has carried out.
There will be a separate thread for more specialised discussion of the 'Go West' mission (to be launched in the next day or two).
You are welcome to join the itinerary and tag along (just keep an eye out for the new thread).
However, you would be best joining the group formally first, as this has organisational implications, especially with regards to providing any aid/advice/help with preparations that might be needed prior to launch, or during the journey. (To join DRX check out our DG thread: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/266448-DEEP-RECON-X?p=4112839#post4112838)
Hope that helps. :)

As my esteemed and very competent colleagues have already mentioned, we would be glad to have a fellow explorer aboard. Feel free to check us out. We are all friendly folk and you will be guaranteed a very warm welcome. [yesnod]

Well, there's a few weeks until Bravo stage. See you there. Unless you've already jumped ship to PC. ;)

Hey guys, I am currently on a big trip myself 3kLY out from Sag A>Beagle Point>Jacques>Bubble

Curious to know if the Alpha way points you are using are set in stone yet? As i have a suggestion.

If all goes well i could try cross paths at Myoangooe nebula on my way to Jaques from Beagle point

Hello!!

Watching Dragamir's welcome to DRX trailer has totally inspired me to jump back on the exploration choo choo train. I've only done Jacques once in my Type-6 but now I want to head back out into the black with my AspX... and some company! The last trip was very lonely... very... just me and my friendship drive..

So now to prepare!!

1. Fill out my join up form - check
2. Say hello in this thread - check
3. Watch Dragamir's trailer 3 more times - check
4. Work out why my AspX gets so toasty near stars when refuelling - not check. Any ideas? Is it by design? Is there anything I can do that doesn't massively forfeit jump range?

In conclusion I hope I can come aboard and join you guys, the DRX crew always seem to be some of the friendliest peeps on the forum and I'd love to be a part of the community!!

All ships will gain head when fuel scooping, if I recall, a low emissions power plant will help your thermal handling a bit.

Also, heat sinks can be a saviour

when you're out in the black, turn off shields, power distributor, afmu, planetary vehicle hangar, all utillity slots but 1 heat sink, cargo hatch, any weapons and your heat should be much less of an issue, just mind and turn the shields back on for planetary landings

Cheers guys, been playing with my setup. Ditched my class 3 fuel scoop and invested in a class 6.. Oh my god this thing scoops fast. Pretty much solved the problems I was having!
