Im just getting back into ED after a little break & it looks like ive got back at the perfect time. Count me in too, if I cant upgrade ill be in my Cobra mk3.

I'm in. Been a while since I've been out in the black, and I really felt left out of DW so I didn't go.
Another good trip should put me at explorer elite. This time I can take pics with paint jobs, too!

I am certainly interested if the Open element is there. If some silly sod wants to follow me with my 30+ LY jump range then sure go for it.

I don't mind a chat whilst exploring (albeit with the chat pad) - ask Bongo and Lost Legend - they practically kept me sane on the Sag A* trip I did in me DBX.

Might try an Asp X this time round. I think an Anaconda is out of my financial reach at the moment.

When are we thinking of doing this? I personally wouldn't mind some time to explore Horizons in the bubble - but whichever I suppose. Horizon bubble will be there when I get back

It may be worth some Horizons acclimatising time before the group sets off, that way we can get used to planetary landings and using SRVs. I can see myself pancaking it once or twice, at least if I do it near the bubble I'll be able to repair/rebuy without worrying about catching up again, or not having use of an SRV should I damage that. I will also be going open, though I'm not sure if my mic works, so it may just be chatting via smart glass.

Wouldn't worry too much. I'll be spending some time modding my ships with the engineers before we leave.

I would really like to join in on this, I've yet to go more than a 100 or so ly out of the bubble. I'm currently in a cobra mk III with about 20 million creds to possibly get an asp x. Any advice for a ship to take out there is welcome.
Also will there be an expedition to the Formidine Rift? That's what I'd really like to set out for, or another arm on the outer rim would be ok too.
About an INARA wing, I'm currently in a wing that I would not want to leave. Would I have to leave in order to get in on the private discussions on INARA?

There's a fair chance we'll form an INARA wing, but I'd would look to mirror any discussions. That way you'd not have to leave your current wing. As previously stated I 'm aiming for no-one having to change anything about their playstyle. :)

I would definitely be up for it. I like getting out into the dark and the chance to do something that sets us apart from our PC brethren would be great. I work full time and can only play in evenings so could head out in some sort of evening convoy.

I'm just wondering if there is a certain area of the galaxy or specific system that we should be moving toward, so that all those taking part are at least in the same general area.

I'm currently docked at George Lucas, in Leesti but am ready to make my way to meet up with other Commanders.

Commander Iconoclypse, I'd like to head out to your general area, or agree t meet up at a certain point.

Or is this a little early yet? I'm still earning money at the moment so I will be happy to carry on doing this in whatever sector of space we are.

I'll be joining PBSF on Saturday night at Neto for some SRV racing. Then I'm on a week of nights and then I'm off to the Rift, I'm not hanging about. If I need a bigger jump range at any point I can just scavenge some Jumponium™

So, from what I gather, we'll have a few conda's, some Asp explorers, and quite a few cobras. Should be an entertaining fleet composition when it all shakes down.

Sat 28th? Oh C'mon. the unicorn can wait, but you can't? Jeezus H. Corbett!

OK so...

My idea is to plan an itinerary that is easily followed by all CMDRs at their own pace, regardless of ship (there you go, Cerinian), jump range, time-zone, play-time constraints (there you go, Johnny Cairns). I know we have a mature community here with jobs, families, other commitments and we're spread across the globe. (In this latter regard I'm a Brit with in-laws in the States so I know a little about being sensitive to time differences).
I want groups where possible to make the jumps to the rendez-vous points (singles, PGs, soloists too, naturally, under their own steam - the point being a common spot to meet up), and after a brief amount of thought I think it might be a good idea if the rendez-vous point was planet-side. A planet-side staging area would give us a good 'home base' where we can learn the intricacies of planetary landings, not to mention SRV training, at least initially (perhaps spear-headed by our PC friends. Yes Alicorn, I may well be formally deputising you soon, maybe Bongo too?)

But this is all ahead of us. The financial commitments I've personally made to some CMDRs, plus the CMDRs who're currently out of the bubble but are planning returns to tie in with Horizons, AND the time many of us need for re-fits (not to mention the simple time constraints of research and organisation) mean that we are looking at some time after the 7th June before departure.
I, personally, am hoping to have as many of the organisational ducks in a row as far before the 7th as I can, but there are many factors still in the air, AND as a newly-formed group (yes, DRX is now officially a thing) we all have to discuss and agree some things. I think looking at roughly a fortnight is about the best we can hope for.
I know we're all excited, and I know many CMDRs will want to head out sooner rather than later, BUT for those of us who have Horizons on day one maybe keep in mind that many CMDRs won't have that instant access plus there's plenty of fun to be had trying out SRVs in the bubble while we all return/re-fit before DRX departs en-masse.
Besides which a slightly later departure date will allow server traffic to maybe settle a bit, another consideration.
Now as it's 3am my time I'm turning in, but I will update as soon as possible. In the meantime I'd welcome any and all comments via PM.

No, the Saturday following release

the 4th of June, oh, well why didn't you say so? You're still a turncoat. Unless you're back in time for the DRX departure some time soon after the 7th.
Yep, AFTER the 7th (shortly after though, hopefully). Reasons noted above... G'night.

I'll be on nights.

Doesn't bloody matter, ya muppet! lol We're going to work things out for every time-zone/constraint to play hours. All inclusive (but without the dubious food or half-built hotels!) :D

(take a look at some of the times I've posted over the last week even. I don't know what 9am looks like unless it's a hospital appointment or a later night than is usual?!)

I will join, but will play catch up with you guys. I am going to get some upgrades first. I did just change my anaconda from a refuelling and new Commander escort shi to the exploration ship.

I'm a bit of a night crawler myself and I welcome the 'at your own pace' philosophy.

I am toying with the idea of a Cobra MkIV as an exploration fighter escort but the max jump range being in early to mid 20s could put me off - especially if I do load ordinance.
