I doubt that, I still think that they just got the superpowers together because it was necessary, but I must admit I have wondered what the point of all that was since it hasn't amounted to a lot of success for him, certainly not the kind of success you would expect him to have with such backing.

At the very least it was diversion. Mahon delayed the election for a couple of weeks of which he was losing in the polls. His reason for the delay was because of the timing of the summit....which was put on by Sirius. Mahon and Sirius are linked at the hip.
There are no good guys in this galaxy. In 3308, might is right. I'm with Sirius Corp.

Someone should get the message out there that we only get one galaxy, and once it's gone, it's gone. Individual miners treat the environment with respect; but, these mining corporations are a menace. Are those really the values that those other guys want to defend and promote.
I agree. Sirius Corporation is so large they have not one but two mining subsidiaries, in addition to their other businesses such as trashing barnacles in the Coalsack Nebula!
Disaster. 48 million credits. And for what? It took me 12 jumps to get here last night, and, doubtless, it will take me the same to get home again.
If those guys had any principles and moral fibre, they'd have fought for Sirius. They didn't. They fought for the side that meant they could get extra cash from massacre missions.

Shortages of moral fibre haven't posed too much of a problem for Sirius in the past. I'm sure they'll be fine even if LYR has to pass on a new meta-alloy superyacht this week.

There’s missions for spell checking?
Ideally, there needs to be a rematch in Sirius system. A draw, would make for an uneasy compromise storyline, with the conflict spreading as skirmishes in neighbouring systems, and fed and imp navy peacekeepers/observers being called in to help.
