Deletion Of A Thread?

It's probably better to bump your own thread.....(waits for a mod response:whistle:)..... rather than creating another one.

There's enough rubbish cluttering up these forums these days.

Now that's just obnoxious. Please don't do that. It's worse than bumping your own thread.

Editing a thread so that it is radically different to the one people have replied to is also bad form.

Rather scummy editing IMO, as it now makes Vardaugas look like he's being a for the sake of it. But to be fair, that's why it's a good idea to use the quote function.

For anyone who hasn't read before the edit — This thread was originally about asking for responses to another thread, rather than simply bumping that other thread.

That clears thing up for latecomers like me :)

How do I delete a thread?
Conventional way has been that you can't, but with the new Forum system you can really mess it up by deleting your own posts (please don't do this, I'm not recommending it and other forum members will take a dislike to you). This happened with that "I found Raxxla" thread.

You could ask a mod to close it, by typing "Mods please close thread" but that isn't always noticed, so it is best to make a request in the Report (bottom left).

Evidently, it is possible to change thread titles, so you could add something to it, such as [closure pending], but I don't know if the mods are OK with that.

The real conclusion to take away from this is to be careful what you type - it seldom gets deleted, just closed, and is on record forever !
