General / Off-Topic Design Outside the Box

Funny video, although his picture of the future is a bit unsettling. It seems to me that his whole point was that game designers have forgotten that people are social creatues (and that people like points).

Although with the return of co-op gaming and to some extent achievements I think they are starting to remember.

this will let me think
it's true
but just because we are into this bonus system thinking
i guess i'ts not a good thing if you do something only to get a bonus or points for it

it's a true capitalistic thinking, to me
even when it's just points that you can get
something my parents and myself as a parent allways wanted to prevent
do something only to be rewarded for it

that wouldn't mean that most of society is working like that
i know i'm somewhat a exception (together with some other weirdos)
most parents educate their children using this system (money or points or a apple, it doesn't matters)

speaking for myself, you never could catch me with that, else i would have been a brilliant scholar, many wanted to make school plausible to me like it's a game, but i never was after the "points".

i have educated myself in many ways, but never to gain something, i did it for the love of it, i liked to do it, something i had affinty to.
if not, i never would have done it.

further i think it can run empty as quick as it has boomed
simply because nothing's behind (personally i find hard to figure out what's behind money, except that i can live from).

but the ball is allready rolling, and it can't be stopped by wishes or preyers
but anyway a good exposition of what's up ahead

due to this failure in education/parentship it's getting only possible to get this far.

but society won't get far this way, we will, i promise, stuck into that. if people stop doing things for the love of it, not much real progress can be achieved.
except some might get very rich in this game ;)
i guess a problem that shows it's face to me since long
allready it lacks of people that have a REAL interest for, especially their job
no, everything is (allready) only done for "points"
and if you got enough points you can have this and that pleasure
or maybe get the "right" girl or man
but to do something that breaks out, something outstanding
points aren't enough
everything is just mediocre then

but it's true what he showed off.

i guess time will tell
i mean the ball will roll once back to the other side, i'm shure
as soon as he reached the highest point on the curve
we should better stay out of his way then
