I think it was only talking about consoles. MAC were not included.
But 1.3 may be a special case as the mac version is still quite new.

At a guess Frontier will push out 1.3 onto the Mac beta test and PC users at the same time to help with cross play beta testing.

Am I right that drones will be the same, but the module that will lunch it will give different actions for drone (collect, prospect, fuel transfer)?

1.3 is either going to be an epic disappointment or an amazing and brilliant addition to the game.

I do believe it may be the latter :D. (Fingers crossed)

I'm fully expecting 1.3 to be a really exciting update! I'd kind of assumed PowerPlay to be an improvement to the mission system so when I heard that the mission system was getting a complete overhaul and that that wasn't even the most exciting part of what PowerPlay was ... suffice to say this is going to be a looong week :)

The situation hasn't changed since last week, it's being looked into and is likely to take a few weeks to sort out.

Michael

I completely understand, and would have been more than happy had your update said "Steam Keys are still being looked into" as it would show it hasn't been forgotten.

Hell, I'd be happy with "Pay £5 for our admin costs to upgrade to steam edition". Others perhaps not.

And, any news about the Anaconda Vibrant paintjob pack ? Does every pack took 1 week long to be realised ? 16 weeks for 16 packs ? Why the Anaconda pack take this long ?

Currently targets for missions are found in USSs (Unidentified Signal Sources), this will remain the case for some targets, but others like assassination targets will have to be hunted down in supercruise before they can be taken out.

Michael, a quick question (although perhaps you're not at liberty to answer this yet). I appreciate that having assassination targets in an instanced USS is a convenient way of dealing with the (immersion breaking) problem you get in other mmo's of having to wait for a named target to re-spawn (because someone else has just killed them). How are you planning on dealing with this issue in 1.3?

The Anaconda has a different damage model to the other ships. When damaged you can tear off chunks and see inside the ship. I imagine this is the reason why it takes a bit longer for them to release skins for it.

Class 3 and 4 Mining lasers! Now! Please?

and please make bigger mining lasers better instead of faster? :)

Frontier, and Michael, can I please implore you to think hard about whether you really want to continue with this USS mission system. It's so bad from a gameplay perspective. It's infurating and annoying, doesn't make sense in any kind of RP perspective.

I was hoping that the missions overhaul would strip the USS system out entirely (other than, maybe, very rare and special circumstances).

Me too. Although it's not the USS points themselves that bother me, it's the way they're presented. Implement the Orrery View and have them visible in that. That way you'd at least feel like they were geographically tied to something.

A mining drone sounds great, so long as the mechanic is "done meets fragment and disappears and fragment materializes in hopper". I don't relish the idea of the drone coming back to my unshielded scoophole at 50mps+.

So you need a cargo hatch breaker module and a collection drone controller to deploy either of those types of drone. The drones are universal and it is up to the controller to determine the actions of the launched drone.

Is the "cargo hatch breaker module" going to be renamed to something more appropriate? The name won't make much sense if it becomes a device that programs a drone/limpet for multiple different purposes.

Going on past practice, Beta will be 4 weeks after the announcement.

Except they've been extremely secretive about the core content of the 1.3 patch since first uttering the phrase "Powerplay" some 6 weeks ago. It's pretty clear they want the main feature set to remain a secret as long as possible before making that announcement.

The Mac Beta build was stated to run approximately six weeks in a previous dev update. Part of the Mac Beta involves cross play testing so what better incentive for getting PC players to test cross play than to kill two birds with one stone by having the Powerplay beta in the dying stages of the 6 week mac beta period?

My personal expectation for the timing of the 1.3 beta has been Tuesday 5th May for several weeks now. Why? Because that is the start of week 6 of the Mac beta. Powerplay for both PC & Mac would then likely be released to the regular users on Tuesday 12th May.

I hope April 28th.

I think with Michael stating "a few weeks" with regards to cross play testing. May 5th is probably a better fit as it's still just shy of 3 weeks away currently. May 5th also fits in with the typical beta release on the first Tuesday of the month.

I could be completely wrong with my theory but would prefer to be correct. ;)
