This may not be a game bug, as such, but it's a show-stopper for me on the mac nonetheless. My Logitech Wingman II joystick, which I've been using on my laptop running Win7 to play the game up to this point, appears to not be recognized by the Mac version of the game. I suspect a driver issue, but googling around has as yet not yielded a solution. Until I can fix that, or until I can justify the purchase of better hardware, I'm stuck.

The more the 1.3 approaches, the more my legs shake. I can't wait for release! New mission overhaul is what makes me more excited :D :D :D

<<Currently targets for missions are found in USSs (Unidentified Signal Sources), this will remain the case for some targets, but others like assassination targets will have to be hunted down in supercruise before they can be taken out.>>

Ships flying around in systems eh, whatever next. Maybe do away with the USS altogether?

Great Stuff.

Although i'm interested in power play......I'm really looking for something.....anything about landing on planets and how development is progressing.

My pet theory is that Powerplay will include walking around your ship. I think that maybe the "new way to interact with the galaxy".

I've been wrong before. ;)

Some feedback.

What justification is there for an uber rare mineral just because it is outside of 500 LY bubble around Sol?

Well, if its very rare and much sought after, a probable justification would be that non-fringe systems are much more explored, prospected and..mined (out). It just makes sense man.

Same rationale as Hutton Orbital- no incentive to make the long trek there so why do it?

There is really no reason for humanity NOT to build the Hutton Orbital research station.

1. It is the first system that really got explored I think (and the closest star system to earth). Hutton Orbital is a research station (also one of the first built/maintained), and you put these out where there is actually something to research. Not where it is convenient for trade or colonization.

2. With the advancement of the FSD (lore-wise), getting to the station takes mere hours. Before it, it would take months. If humanity put a research station there (as per FE2/FFE lore) and then kept resupplying it with multi-month duration missions, would they even blink if the traveling time went down to hours?

Thus, I think you are equating your gameplay time with what would seem probable, plausible or appropriate in the game world lore.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see in the future micro jumps between the stars of a multiple star system (FDEV have hinted on that). But that does not make HO improbable from a universe/lore point of view imo. Far from it. ;)

or it will (more likely imo) mean the system map is now directly clickable with targets selectable, which is quite literally a new way to interact with the galaxy.

I am happy to be wrong (tho I would like the above, and I think it is coming...... I think it was meant for 1.2 but delayed)

Will there be explosive based blast mining to break really big rocks in to small rocks?

This would be cool but highly dangerous. Asteroid chunks suddenly flying in all directions.

Unfortunately, I think roids are not able to be physically manipulated. They are like planets and stations- immovable and indestructible. If you shoot them with missiles and cannons they should react to the energy but they don't.

On that note, firing slug-throwers or missiles should put a force on our ships, such if you are sitting still and fire a multi-cannon mounted only on one hard-point the ship should be pushed back with equal and opposite force.

Maybe post that in the Mac beta bug forums instead of here...

What if i get out of Supercruise in an RES and get some distance away ?
Will resources quantity drop somewhat after i traveled X km away from the RES ?

I was also wondering this. Plus what is the difference as it stands right now between RES and other standard asteroid belts?

Steam keys?? You seem to have gone silent on this, a sceptical person would think you are hoping the question goes away.

<Please Don't>

Mike came in here to give us some juicy bits of information that he has...information about systems in the sim that are resolved and ready for public consumption (or will be very shortly).

Don't you think that if they had if set up, that he'd have let everyone know ASAP? They've already posted a public statement about the difficulties involved and their work on it...

I believe that in 1.3 we will get mailboxes and will be able send and receive email to other commanders, this was what they meant by another way of interacting within the galaxy.

Can we please please please have the performance of hatch breakers improved? Right now they are far too slow and far too fragile. This would go a long way for pirating.
