Developer Diary #1 - A World Evolved

So, I'm confused - does this mean that the tropical biome isn't present AT ALL?

No word on JP Style park and Classic Skins customisation :(
The new Chaos Theory game mode has levels set across eras and locations from all five films.

If we’re revisiting these locations, then that means Isla Nublar, Isla Sorna, and possibly Sanctuary and Diego are confirmed to return for the sequel. This also means that all of the classic JP assets (buildings, dinosaur skins & models, etc.) are pretty much confirmed as well.

So, there are a lot of interesting questions here, but unfortunately I can't share the answers right now. We'll have more details about the game to share in the future!
Ooh that just means its gonna be worth the wait. Consider us waiting like a trex on a fresh Edmontosaurus on treat day!

Way too optimistic in my opinion. But I like to see optimism.

The video on YouTube should be available in 1080p. I don't think we're currently filming dev diaries in 4K though.
It is in 1080p yes bit it just looks bad on a 4k Tv. I mean yea just a suggestion

Just noticed something new on the Dev Diary (not related to the quoted message) but @Jens Erik under the Sabotage Alert it said "GUEST PROTEST". Does that mean that guests will be angry and protest or cause damage if their needs aren't met or the animals are being neglected (similar to Planet Zoo)? Could that be a hint that more than Scientists can cause trouble in your parks and its not just natural disasters we have to contend with?

With exception to the San Diego and Sanctuary maps, the Nublar & Sorna maps and all of the JP assets are all but officially confirmed be in the game. Evidence can be found in some of the promotional material such as screenshots and the recently released Developer Diary, where we can see some of these classic era assets, such as the cable fences and egg doors.

Yea, I noticed that too. I wonder what could cause certain groups to protest.
-Nature Lovers is obvious: treat dinos humanely.
-General: prices too high?
-Luxury: probably anything since it's the Karen category.
-Adventure: ...? Security rating maybe? No idea atm. EDIT: OMG, DUH! "um... you are planning to have dinosaurs, um, on your dinosaur tour...?"

Could we create aviaries with rocks like the ones in the first game?
I loved the aviary design from the first game and I think it would be great to have our smart no-loop flying reptiles in the old aviary.
Can rocks be stacked? @Jens Erik

Very interesting stuff... some of the things I noticed:
  • Multiple confirmed dinosaurs: Chasmosaurus, Corythosaurus, Diplodocus, Dracorex, Torosaurus, what appears to be Parasaurolophus.
  • A brand new fence type, unlike any seen before; has lots of yellow detail.
  • All fences appear to have either additional bars or mesh fencing at their base, like those from Return to Jurassic Park.
  • What appears to be Return to Jurassic Park style metal aviaries, in addition to the glass one already confirmed.
  • Monorails return.
  • Restrooms return.
  • First glimpse of what appears to be the hotel; it's a new design.
  • What appear to be power Substations, but without wires connecting to them... underground wiring confirmed?
  • Absolute confirmation that you can put down lights, tables and planters--not as part of the buildings--but as actual decorative objects.
  • A reference to "tours" which may refer to the Jurassic Tour ride added in Claire's Sanctuary; what may be a placeholder picture may support this idea.
  • A reference to "lagoons" which is presumably what the aquatic animal tanks are being called.
  • A reference to "guest protest" suggesting guests may protest certain things, like in Planet Zoo.
  • A strange new bar located at the lower right corner of the screen, featuring an upside-down red triangle with a "!" in the center.
  • The mysterious second-to-last icon on the left side of the screen appears to be a... dedicated ranger control button maybe? Or maybe just a dinosaur transport button.
  • What might just be our first look at the aquatic lagoon; it's a little hard to make out, but that's what it kind of looks like.

I like what I see so far. More then enough to pique my interest yet again.
I also will humbly admit that once I posted about concrete slab buildings based on screenshots shown at the time and thankyou devs for showing all these types of guest building designs we can get because some looked very nice to me, so I may very well have building in my park that I do like. Not a bright blue concrete slab I half-expected. 😅

I am semi interested in the scientists. Will there only be a small pool of them to choose from? or is their a larger pool for the game to pull from so I'm not hiring the same people all the time?
I think the guest protest was the unhappy staff member flaming the park on social media and getting some random people grumpy on their behalf. very realistic form of sabotage xD
I like the lagoon. Exactly what I expected, the question will be if it gets unique viewing platforms and if we can see through them view view camera like in the first game.

I've seen the substations too and they never seem to be connected, but I've also seen power lines on occasion. They probably take them out for PR shots cause they hang at a convenient height for blocking the main subject and cluttering the skyline.

Idk i dont follow a game that will be released in november. When its out its out. Then i wanna see how jungle looks now. All i can see is jwe 1.5 so far.I still buy tho🥲
"All I can see is jwe 1.5 so far." almost all of this new content probable never could have been made in the original game. People still saying this doesnt have enough content to warrant a sequel are flat out wrong

Hmm... maybe... or both are in the game...

I think I found a deer screaming in the night at 5:23
That does sound like a deer, but remember a lot of the dinosaurs use sounds from real animals. There for sure is something prehistoric about some deer calls, so I guess it is supposed to be a dinosaur.
Wild animals fitting the biomes could for sure be a very fun detail. Especially since some dinos are going to be found in the wild, the carnivores would need to hunt something else than goats if there isn't wild prey dinos in the area.
