"Development Level >>"? Figuring out what all these numbers do.

AJAIK refinery-contact you get at Industrial Setllements (and Ind-Outpost??), but I am not sure....
ahh ok. I have managed to fail on the logic front every time with this

i assumed we would need a solid extraction base to get decent reifining - wrong!.

and i assumed having a refinery would allow us to have a refinery contact.... also wrong.

I know some love trial and error but god i wish FD had made some sort of logic guide ingame.

I've noticed that commodities on sale in settlements/surface ports and, to some extent, starports are usually much higher than the galactic average in terms of cost. This is a disincentive to trade of course! But what determines the cost - is it based on population, amount of supply available, or something else? Will newly colonized systems always have inordinately high buy costs for their exports?

Thanks.

I think I have no choice for that volcanic HMC station but to lean into the industrial production - I think with two medium industrial settlements and an installation I can tip it over 50%
I had a look at what changes I can expect by going all in on industrial.
Seems like I am trading Surface Stabilisers,Trit, Superconductors and some crap metals for Domestic Appliances, Suvival Equip, Mineral Extractors, Power Gens and Computer components (and a lot more output on all industrial items).

Will give it a go and let you know how I get on

exactly this - the higher the supply (stock+refill-rate), the lower the price of commodities the market sells, for commodities the Market buys its vice versa - the higher the demand, the higher the prices.

Can't land on it, so no biosignals. But the first landable moon in my primary system definitely has biosignals and no volcanism. It also has an argon atmosphere.

Just decided to risk building a commercial outpost in my primary system. I've been wondering if an icy planet with no vulcanism has any trace of industrial influence at all so this is an excellent test.

The presence of biosignals and argon atmosphere is also a good indicator of agri influence. Looks like my dream of a garden planet (though somewhat chilly) isn't dead after all 😁

The Civilian outpost I built around landable non-atmospheric, no vulcanism, no bio-signals ice world shows up 115% Industrial. Still to become fully online, though.

Interesting, this implies that Industrial is a native economic influence inherent in icy planets regardless of anything else.

But the presence of volcanism adds +1.0 making the industrial effect 215% on that type of icy planet (at least according to Mechan).

Still worth the risk, I have 2 more surface slots to add more agri influence on top of what the medium agri settlement already provides.

Will most probably have to make them both large though 😁

I have just completed a civ outpost (colony) in slot 1 (slot 0 was already filled with a space farm) above a non landable icy body and it immediately went industrial. I am going to add another space farm in slot 2 and see what happens. If all the food gets eaten, at least I have added to the SoL and Dev levels.

You can look into the journal to see how much the farm is adding Agri influence

ice-flowers???

Just finished a t1 port. For those interested, the supply on the Coriolis orbiting that planet did not change at all after finishing the port on the ground.
So a ground refinery doesn't cut into the supplies from the space refinery.
