Development Update 1 - June

One question: Will there be further updates until console release or not?

Question still not answered.

Any word on this?
As far as i can understand, don't expect fix (except emergency one, i suppose). And in no way more content.
I think the next roadmap will be how they handle the release of the next iteration of the game.

If this is indeed the answer, then it is absolutely not acceptable that a company like FDev cannot provide a simple 'Yes or No' answer to a question like this.

A question that has been sidestepped since the Roadmap post.
If you want a binary answer, it's no.

And do you believe this is acceptable?
No. Do you have suggestion ?

But that's what the gamma slider is for? I mean you basically just said 'My TV is crap because it's too quiet, I should be able to hear it without having to turn the volume setting up.'

At the same gamma setting, Horizons looks much better and much consistent (space, ship, hangar, planetary surface)
EDO had different lighting in any of those circumstances. Like they applied individual fixes and not general ones.

wll do, until steam has finished downloading my new games - then I will be busy playing them. Actually working games.

EDO is still too dark - that was my basic request to make it brighter - did not happen, so i tend to games, where i can actually see something without changing the gamma value.
I think they have to rework pipelines individualy. It seem that the last patch release the result for the cockpit one.

If they would have solved it that it looks like in EDH, I would have bought EDO despite the other issues it still has - but so, no way.

They had their chance, now it is gone - I will consider to buy it next year - for now they don't get anything from me.

'looks much better' is a subjective opinion though. I mean I agree with what you're saying about individual changes to elements rather than a blanket change, that's an objective statement, but the outcome of that in terms of how it looks is subjective for each of us. I mean come on, there have been graphics mods for the game for years that people used to specifically make elements darker and used to rave about them because that was their personal preference for how the game looked to them.

My only point was that someone refusing to alter any of their settings for this game and demanding that it's 'fixed' to their eyes is ridiculous precisely because someone else will doubtless look at the 'fixed' version and say it's too light/still too dark/too yellow or whatever, which is exactly why we have user controls for this stuff in the first place.

Thank you to keep some fresh carrots for them. I gave them mine too early :-/

Well, the point is that altering the Gamma slider will increase your gamma everywhere.
And that means you will have a very bright hangar or base/settlement setting and still a very dark and dull skybox

I dont think anyone expects me to alter the gamma in-between any scene change

To get to your TV comparison - I'm not going to change my setting for every new program, series, movie whatsoever - if their technicians can't equalize it properly, that the same settings work for everything coming up, it's their fault. But TV stations do that properly - I don't have to change settings for everything individually - one setting for all is enough. And it works for me with all the other games I have.

that is exactly my point as well.

I do actually have Odyssey and play it - it looks different from Horizons for sure but we're back to the point about subjectivity aren't we? I don't have a problem with it, which is not the same thing as saying 'it looks identical to Horizons.' Because it doesn't. You want certain elements to be brighter and certain other elements to not be brighter - I get it but unless they introduce the ability to change individual elements of the scene its never going to happen.

This is why I fear that this will mess up EDH in the future as well - if it does, it's time to uninstall the game for good.

You seem to be ignoring the fact that there are still gamma/brightness issues and this is due to the fact that, apparently, each type of scenery has its own brightness/gamma setting.
And all they did, until now is to (manually) adjust it for each scene individually instead of having a global and uniform lighting across all scenes and locations.

And not all of them are fixed yet, with the net result that instead of having the entire game all bright (horizons nice and shiny) or all dark (as EDO was during alpha and at launch) we now have a total mess of light and dark scenes

What am I ignoring about the fact that TO ME, SUBJECTIVELY, it looks OK? I've already said it does not look like Horizons, I don't know what else you want from me here? Also you'll forgive me if I don't continue this because I popped in and made a quick post that I didn't imagine would turn into another debate/argument - I'm actually at work here and can't take the time for this right now.
