For all of those that continue down this "autopilot" road. Just remember there was never any plans for an autopilot. Not to mention, I am surprised there was even an auto-docking computer, given that it's 15 times faster to dock by ourselves. I can dock my ships on a dime and still sink a beer with the other hand. To implement an autopilot, you might as well not play the game. The whole idea of Elite from what I can tell is to put in the hard labor and earn your dollars. Too many people in these forums are reflecting what we see in society today... LAZINESS! Do your job you lazy commanders! It's not like you're doing much really, besides moving a mouse and pressing keys on a keyboard.
As for Frontier Developments, as far as I am concerned, they are doing a great job. Whilst I am a little annoyed that they got rid of the idea of offline gaming, this game is Freelancer on steroids in my opinion and it's only going to get better. I have a few good ideas as do so many other people, but I know that they will fall on deaf ears given the high demand, so I will just bid FD a hello from Australia and say "keep up the great work".
By the way FD, I tried to explain this some time back but the forum wasn't functioning for me properly at that time. I am running a dual core E8400 at 3Ghz per core. Now normally the game wouldn't run too well if that were only the case but with the Sapphire HD 7790 it helps. But that isn't my secret weapon. My secret weapon is that I run a radio network and for that I have to have a mixer of course. The mixer I am running is the Behringer X1204USB and it takes a HUGE load off the CPU time, because it is it's own sound processor of course. The game runs better on my dual core due to this, than what it does on my quad core with later Nvidia tech for the vid card. Nice huh?
So I am running the game as smooth as silk on a dual core with 4 GIG mem, 7790 HD Sapphire and the mixer mentioned above. I have proven your "minimum requirements" to be futile. Muwhahahahahahahaha!
Enjoy peoples.
Edit: My name in game is Surplusonious should anybody want to shoot at me...
