Devs can we have a definitive answer on multi-enjoying

Recently the devs answered on a thread about multiplayer. That it wont come to planet coaster. That's sad but no problem i'm used to play this game on my own. But i got still hopes for multi-enjoying!

That means that players can upload their park on steam. Which allows other players to log in that park, and walk around as a peep, with a fixed camera angle. So no superman mode but just casually walking around. In the park you see other players walking around, who also have logged in the same park that allows you to experience together! Multi-enjoying i call that. Maybe with chat options in a window, or better, with thought clouds. Which allows you to communicate with other players.

In the starting screen of planet coaster you'll see a list of parks that you can log in too, and also shows how many players are in that park. That way the best parks will stand out and players will appreciate the game mechanics much more!

Hopefully the devs can shed some light on this and i'm curious what the community will think about this! Thanks for reading...

Can we stop with the "can we get a definitive answer on..." Threads already

They already said there will be no multiplayer support period.

With the programming experience that I have, I can understand why Frontier opts to not make Planet coaster a multiplayer game. It takes sooo much work to make a fairly trivial game (which PC already isn't) work in a multiplayer setting. For a large chunk it will probably mean a total rewrite of the game.

Note that I have no knowledge about the codebase of PC itself, but for most games which were originally designed to be singleplayer, it can take a lot of work to convert it to be multiplayer compatible. Your take on multiplayer is not any different from that, since you would still need to synchronize game state across different players, which does not make it much different from turning the whole game into multiplayer. In your case you could 'only' skip synchronization of building/removing pieces and rides. The whole simulation would still have to be synchronized, as well as player input for walking around and chatting.

So, given that they already stated they don't have any plans for multiplayer, I would guess that an idea like this won't make it in either.

Well you can almost do as you say. I could go on Steam, download for example Vampiro's park and walk around the park. Obviously you won't see other players being controlled.. but if you wanted to experience together, you could watch one person live on Steam, or all go on together in your own versions and use discord to voice chat or something. These are things I have done with my friends. [big grin]

Sorry tyczj i should have chosen an other title.
And to Vanamerax, i follow what you say and thank you for responding! But my idea suggest a stand alone application, which has no interference with the base game. But still off course accessible from Planet Coasters main menu, to guarantee easy acces!
Thank you WingardiumLevicoaster, that's indeed a good alternative. But not quite the same though. With this idea a park could in theory be online 24/7. With weird peeps that keep coming back for some reason. Think about the possibilities. Friendships or even romances could develop!

You title thread "Devs can we get an answer" and your first sentance is "Recently the devs answered " lol??

You're right! This questions has been answered, the devs have repeatedly said they have no plans to add multiplayer at this time... in fact theres a thread on this very subject just a few down below yours https://forums.planetcoaster.com/sh...Can-we-get-a-definitive-answer-on-Multiplayer

Hi there,
We've no plans to have multiplayer added to Planet Coaster. :)

Well then i think i'm done with this forum because everything has been asked already. I like the game but i'm sadly losing interest because of lack of content and communication. Community is degrading also so its better for me not too participate for a while.

I wouldn't say "everything" has been asked for, but yea more than we will probably see. The devs do communicate though, they just have other things they are focusing on like Jurassic World. Right now the anniversary update will be nice to finally have a scenario editor, and I'm sure the devs will have more to release in 2018. They have repeatedly said they are still planning on things for the future

Community is degrading also so its better for me not too participate for a while.

I see that Bo is more active now then ever in answering questions on the forum. During live streams she managed to answer a few questions out of the hundreds in the chat. I've been slayed in this topic especially by Breezer who changed his post but i'm still hurt by it and has resulted in that i don't want to participate anymore on this forum. But i've still got hopes in that Planet Coaster has noticed my post. Peace out!

Yeah I know the feeling of not being heard. [sad]
However, you suggestion on multiplayer park visiting is great! [happy][up]

That exact feature existed long time ago in ol' good Bullfrogs "Theme Park World" were you were able to control a guest and visiting someone else park simultaneously. They had a chat for every one visiting the same park. If this was possible 1999, it sure is 2017! [big grin]

Hi Captainjelle!

Sorry to hear you're having some less than positive experiences recently; that's never nice to hear for us!

As for your thread-related question: I understand your idea, and it's very good, but Planet Coaster will not be a multiplayer game - sorry if that lets you down!

The community is generally very lovely, inclusive, and passionate about discussing game-related topics. When it comes to answering questions, we do our best to answer most of them, but I hope you understand this is not always possible; and some questions are often repeated so we answer a few of them but not all. In the streams I try to answer most questions but again, with consideration to what we can say and which dev I have on. Hope that makes sense!

If there's anything I can do to make your experience on the forums a bit better, be sure to let me know. Your voice is valued, like everyone else's!

[heart]
Bo

Oh Bo such a nice response. I don't know why i had to take it on you. Sometimes its difficult to stay positive. In my case it actually had nothing to do with Planet coaster, or yourself. I guess i also demanded an answer witch i'm not proud of. Because you guy's deliver so well i had no right to do this. But i'm so glad the air is cleared now! Your response was just the thing i needed to hear. Ill continue to stay positive now! I'm sorry this had to occur and thank you so much for your reaction!

Also an apology to breezer. I took your response a bit to personal and i hope you can forgive me.
