Little did they know, FDevs were powering up for a development speedrun session.

Well, of the two big one. Of the four, this is the second largest. Which is fine by me, dont get me wrong. For Q2 and Q3 I am mostly expecting things like more ships, mission templates and smaller qol. Q4 will be a big one, and combined with the announcement of the next paid-for DLC.

Which is all the more reason I don't understand why they didn't just find a quick base to land on the planet..again I don't even care about that. I just wanted to learn a bit more behind the tech. What they did to change things, just how will surfaces reflect the underlying materials, etc.
I guess that's the wait and see aspect .. the exploration, DIY planetary science, stays a bit more unspoilered.
In the end they did cram in, a lot to the stream I reckon .. Tech Agents?! Fwap!

When you have so much new stuff to show, why show stuff that didnt change?
They said that the tech was highly based on the composition of each planet, and their type aswell.
And I would assume they will go deeper into the technical stuff in one of the next Discovery Scanner stream

It's the smaller of the two big updates. The two in the middle are much smaller. But if mining and exploration gets as big an update as trading has, I think I will be a happy bunny.
Apart from the color, I dont expect any change at all. The surface shaders/rock stuff is coming in Q4.

Yes I'll be able to see it myself but that doesn't mean I'll understand the underlying mechanics to what I see. The juicy stuff that's what I'm interested in. which is why I want another deep dive video on planets. Yes I'll be able to discover things myself but nothing beats they guys creating the things telling me what's going on. But, hey only a week away again if I was interested in the other stuff I would have been amazed because FD doblooonto be putting some good effort into it all
