The one thing I think really needs to get going is the news section of this forum or in the launcher even. Like most adults I check the news part of this forum before going to the discussion section or ingame, sadly the news part just seems to be a collection of threads that never get updated or added too except for the newsletter which are not really that filled anymore. (yes, holiday I know)
Example of non functioning news: Like a few days ago I saw several reports by players that there was a serious bug that was doing havoc with your savegame (giving absurd amount of money or even killing your save). So what do I do: Not play Elite until it's fixed as I really like my current save!
Today is the first day at work for many of us, in the UK it's almost 10 now meaning FD is on the job for about an hour. Kissy kissy and handshaking everyone into the new year first or course, but not anyone could simply post in the news section: We're back on the job and looking at the reported bug, more news later on this. (maybe even include a happy new year for us too?).
This would get a lot of pressure of you guys as we would know you are working on it. I'm sure you even know about this bug before you got back on the job as you guys love the game you made, and who doesn't check on their baby a lot?
Yes the holidays I know and that's why I didn't complain about it before, But the news section of this forum needs regular updates about the game, gamestate, story and stuff. Get someone maybe dedicated on this please? An online only game (Solo is still online!) needs a news feed outside of the game.
So devs, first a happy new year to you all and please, please, please! let us know something and get a working news feed going!
