Ships Diamondback: My new favorite ship.

It's faster than a viper way more manuverable than a cobra and has perfect hard point placement and an open cockpit. 23ly fully armed. I just hit a res with 2 canons and 2 med burst ( I know finally huh) and made about 200k in 15 min, I don't know what y'all expected but this thing is awsome. Plus it sounds great. I'm not rich but I have plenty cr, I can still see myself flying this thing for a while.

I'm going to pick one up as well, it's exactly what I was looking for. Medium interceptor with reasonable range.

These are your opinions and completely subjective, provide some substance instead of rhetoric.

No, see, that's not how it works. If a ship has 1 size 2 module and 3 size 3 modules, it objectively is a bad trader ship. This is not an opinion, this is fact. There is simply not enough room for cargo in such a ship. If a ship cannot fit 2 sensors, a scoop, and both shields and AFMUs, and if the best scoop it can fit takes THREE TIMES AS LONG to fill a tank as other ships, it is a bad explorer ship. This is not an opinion, this is fact. There are simply not enough modules of large enough size. Exploring is so barebones right now that jump range, supercruise turning speed, scooping speed, and 5 module slots is practically all there is to exploration right now. It is kind of amazing diamondback is only 1 out of 4 for these.

So all that's left is combat.

560 k when live id guess, looking at the pricing set, probably a capable combat vessel but as the billed combat explorer , forget it , its jump range sucks even the adder makes a better explorer and its not going to be a swap out for the asp fliers, as the asp can have weapons and shields and still out jump the DB with its best jump range at no shields and weapons,, Very disappointed with this aspect.

Enty

I wanted to love this ship too, but it can't outjump 5 trading ships so it's not an explorer. It's on par with Cobra/Viper for combat, so it's not a PvP worthy ship, it has a rated manuerverability of 3? Possibly a typo. And it has a max cargo capability of 28 without shields or refinery, so it's definitely not a trader. If you still love it after all of that, then you aren't loving logically, but from self directed rhetoric.

No no that is how it works, who uses a sidewinder to trade? Who said the db was a trade ship? Combat explorer is what I gathered, a ship that can jump over 20ly fully armed, even your interpretation of a "proper" exploration ship is subjective, who needs multiple afmu's for deep space travel? I did it in a cobra with none, the ship is fairly light giveing more jumps per fill up, if you don't like it fine but don't act like your opinion is law.

It can't fit a single AMFU and shields together. The best scoop takes 1 minute 30 seconds to fill its tank. That's far too slow.

I mean you _can_ explore in it, no one will stop you. But it is objectively terrible at exploration compared to, for instance, the adder. A ship that costs 40k.

Self directed rhetoric? Lol, a viper/cobra not viable in pvp? You obviously have all the answers......

as much as I like the adder the cockpit is horrible,<< see subjective.

The maneuverability is a typo, according to everyone who has flown one. People are saying it's extremely maneuverable.

I think the disappointment may be mainly with the title they gave it. I'm excited about it because I was looking for a ship similar to a Viper with longer range, which seems to be what it is. People who were looking for an explorer that could fit weapons and handle itself in a fight are the ones disappointed, which seems to be justified in that sense.
