Newcomer / Intro Did I just get a new class A FSD for free?

Not sure what happened. I went to a station (Eratosthenes Landing, in the Rugai System.) I have 157k credits. The station had an "A" rated FSD for sale (I'm on a Sidewinder) for 160k. I was able to buy it since you get some money for selling your old FSD.

So I did that. I got the new FSD, left the station and then I noticed that I *still* have 157k credits! Bug? (Though as far as bugs go, this was an awesome one ) Or is there something I don't know here when it comes to upgrading your ship?

The only thing that changed in my status panel is the "rebuy cost" (went from ~800 credits to over 8000 credits.) But otherwise, I still have all my money...

Edit: and before anyone asks, yes, the new FSD *is* mounted on the ship.

Which station was that you were in??? When you buy stuff it does take off the cost of the old one, but it sounds like you got a bit of a bargain there.

No. Just tested it. Works fine. My jump range has now increased to over 16ly.

Just noticed that I said "class A" in my post. That was actually the "rating". The class is "2", just as my previous FSD (and the one you start with is also "2".)
