Wasn't in the nav panel. I've seen that issue and was able to still get there by using the nav panel before. This time it no longer exists.hot spot lighting issues do exist in the game and can glitch in at times. when this happens, you should still be able to see the hot spot in the nav list, and you can select it. you just wont see the yellow glow in supercruise.
I'm far away in the black with my FC. Last night I scanned a ring, found tritium hotspot and others. Ended session. Today I jumped to the system of my FC, swapped to my mining cutter, jumped back. The hotspots were there.Wasn't in the nav panel. I've seen that issue and was able to still get there by using the nav panel before. This time it no longer exists.
Metalic rings are ring A, not ring B,, metal rich rings are deep core platinum only in ring B... if you don't take a DSS to probe rings... you must use the big empty space that separates rings as you move out from the planet for were ring A metallic and ring B metal rich/rocky swap over on the rings... if you dont youll easy end up in ring B every time not ring A...I went conventional mining in a Platinum hotspot the other night. I was actually targetting Material rich asteroids rather than anything else, however, I was surprised to see not even a single asteroid with any Platinum content at all. That's not right surely? It's called a hot spot for a reason one would imagine.

There are no platinum laser chunks in metal rich or rocky... and never have been... if the ring letter at the bottom in not A but B you hit the wrong ring..
As the answer too the FAQ go..
If you can't find any Painite or Platinum to laser-mine, you're NOT in a metallic ring...
Is that in the Bubble? They're meant to have stopped such POIs spawning beyond 500ly or so.It's far worse if you try surface mining in an SRV.
Go for Km with no signals, or even worse get a weak signal - again, for Km's - which then disappears. Wasted half an hour yesterday for zip.
And no more skimmers protecting cargo, crashed ships, mining settlements or random buildings. Like ever.
Rings do rotate. Thanks for the tip. I have had issues with instancing problems though, where, when exiting the ring, I've been on the opposite side of the planet. Not seen that for a while though. Perhaps, this time, I just drifted a little far without realising it as you suggest - though instancing isn't always quite where you actually enter the rings. That said, I wasn't there for Platinum, even though I entered an area I had mined Platinum in previously, just there for some raw materials to trade up.
They did break deep core mining in patch 16. If you overcharge the roid, and de active any charges, any new charges will bounce off. If you undercharge and detonate, tlany new charges will also bounce off.
It also seems to be much easier to overcharge a roid as well.
I just gave up mining.
I just tested this out again, I hope I did it correctly. Targeted a fissure, placed a charge, disarmed the charge. Fissure gets untargeted automatically and cannot be targeted anymore. Launched a charge at the fissure visually, charge attached to the fissure. Core blew up as expected. So, works. You used to disarm a charge, and be able to fire a new one at a different level and it worked. You just could not target the fissure, but the charge would stick. That has been how it was since core mining was introduced. If it is not letting you attach a core change after you disarm it (it only works once per fissure), that is changed behavior.
I took time from my busy schedule (the escape pods will just have to wait!) and verified the mining works fine. I made a cool 28 million with my Keelie.I just tested this out again, I hope I did it correctly. Targeted a fissure, placed a charge, disarmed the charge. @Pville_Piper: I don't know why your charges were bouncing, but for me everything works as before.
ive seen lazy limpets being mentioned multiple times after u16I noticed something weird in a later session: two limpets were moving so slowly towards their tritium targets, that at first I thought they were hovering over the asteroid. At the end, the health of the fragments reached 0% and the show ended. Too bad I didn't record that.

My previously-mined Tritium on my FC in Colonia did a roaring trade over the past few weeks, though it's down to zero since a few days ago, all sold out. So the markets are working on FCs, it seems.Wel first of all, thanks everyone for the info. I THOUGHT I had done some mining fairly recently (almost sure it’s been since June) but maybe not.
The other thing that made me wonder if mining had changed had to do with the activity on y carrier. I’ve run a market on my carrier for about a year, buying minerals at a reasonable price. There’s always been a steady flow of business—until about three weeks ago. Then it came to a near screeching halt. Where I used to get several hundred tons a week, I haven’t gotten 10 in the last two weeks! Just seemed kinda weird. Everybody must be out hunting goids…..
