Did they change system names?

There's a couple of systems I can't find anymore. It's not down to shoddy notekeeping, since I'm checking from actual screenshots.

The only explanation I can think of is a name change. But that would be ludicrous, right?

Galaxy Map search seems to be bugged - there was just a help call in the Fuel Rats thread, and the search refused to find the star.

Major bugs in UC I think, "first discovered"s are being overwritten too. Hope it gets sorted quickly.

I had one tonight where I'd made a note of the system last night before calling it a day. Tonight I entered the system name and it couldn't find it. Had the name of another close by which it found and I then saw the one I had searched for previously and it was spelt correctly.

I don't think it's been 100% since the release of 1.3, it now seems to have some strange quirks.

I was trying to find a system today that was called <something> D5-0 but searching for it always went to D5-1. If I searched on <something> D5 then it eventually found it after cycling through D5-1, D5-2, D5-3, etc.

Very similar to mine. It ended D110, the one I wanted to find, but it returned D1110. I tried copy and pasting it, clearing the name and re-typing but it never found it until I saw it and clicked on it.

There is a bug in the GUI of the search box on the galaxy map.
It has been around for a couple of days.

I work around it by pressing enter 3 times in the searchbox after I entered the system name.
Not pretty, but it works for me.

It's been around since 1.3 I noticed it the first night it was released. Logged it as a bug and never had a reply or acknowledgement.

I've stopped using the Enter key and use the > button, but that still takes a couple of clicks.

Tried to search for the ICZ system where someone needed fuel in, ten clicks of the > button did nothing.

I had to abandon my play time today as the search function is almost 100% broken here.

I've been trying to go back to previous systems I've been to the last few days to get some additional data and after the last patch I can't even go to a system I entered in the search box just minutes before the server shutdown during my last session.

Now it won't even go to neighboring systems entered into the search box that I'm staring DIRECTLY at in the Galaxy Map (so no errors in my notes while typing them in), either pushing the ENTER key or clicking on the arrow multiple times. It's only VERY RARE occasionally that it will move to ANY system.

Sorry, </vent>, was starting to sound like I belong in the caveman section of the forum :D

I'll add that yes, search is broken for me, too.

Because of the tag poaching issue going on, I entered some systems in from some scratch notes I had from last exploration just to have a looksee. I could navigate to them last week but today, zilch. Nada.

I sometimes find when searching I have to zoom right out as far as I can to get it to find things. As if the map only searches the visible screen. Not sure if this will help you guys..

Hi,

Currently in work, but has anyone reported this as a bug since the 1.3.4 release?

If not, might be worth someone doing so with some examples.

Regards

Hi there,
I ticketed this bug last night https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=157809

It has only started happening since 1.3.04. I can search for 'named' stars (e.g. stars from the Hipparcos catalogue) fine but stars with procedurally-generated names are not found at all if they have a number in the Sector name (e.g. COL 135 SECTOR, NGC 3114 SECTOR). I can eventually find stars in other sectors, e.g. Synuefe, Praea Euq by alternately using return in the search field and clicking on the arrow next to it, though I have to do this several times.

Prior to 1.3.04 I had seen similar problems as some of you have mentioned here, being redirected either to the 'next' star in the cluster or to another star with an almost identical name. In practice, this meant that whenever I searched for systems in sector Pro Eur, I would be directed to the equivalent star in Pro Eurl (this also happened in 1.2). I thought at the time that it might be because I was closer to Pro Eurl than Pro Eur but now I'm not so sure.
