Different copckpit view with Headtracking

Hello fellow Commanders,

is it possible to change the standard view of the cockpit with a headtracking device? It seems that the distance between the pilots head and f.e. the radar or side menues is greater, ergo harder to read as without headtracking. I would like to move my avatar´s head a few centimeters towards the front (Z axis) if possible. Also, the targeting seems to choose things which i look at for the next target, i would like to leave it as it was without headtracking - in the middle of the front screen (where the mouse cursor indicator is, if you activated it). Or better - is it possible to show a indicator what i am currently looking at/whats my actual center of view with headtracking?

sorry for my weak english, i hope its still understandable what i meant.

If your tracking system (which one do you use?) supports positional tracking, recalibrating the position whilst leaning back should do the trick.

Currently im using a DelanClip with FTnoIR / OpenTrack but ill switch to the EDtracker with the MPU9150 as soon as they deliver the parts. Are you sure that ED supports Z Axis headtracking?

Well - it does in the rift DK2. I have trackIR 5, but only briefly tried using it in ED in early June, so I honestly don't remember if it did.

(On a side note, since this is the VR subforum, I assume this is one of the least likely places to find people currently using tracking clips. Not sure if someone uses google cardboard with FTnoIR, but most people browsing this subforum will be using a VR device with a built in tracking solution and not a headtracker...).

Thanks a lot Captain! In which subforum should i put this one then?

Good question - probably tech support - may just as well leave it here - I guess there are a lot of people who have used other headtracking devices before/currently using them and reading about VR.

I was merely wondering out loud - you're not the only one asking questions about headtrackers in here...
