Different species interactions?

There's a warthog video on youtube of a zoo where other species like ostrich, antelope, buffalo would chase it away or display territorial behavior.
Anyways are there interactions between different species? I mean I already like what it is in the demo a lot but just wondering.

if, there are flamingos in the game,i am shure they will join the hippos.in the beta, you could also mix indian elephants, rhinos and peafowls. Also you could mix african elephants with the gemsboks in a desert habitat. the mixture you mentioned included: african Elephants, springbok, Afr Buffalo, warthog, antelopes, zebras, ostrichs and giraffes. so the afr elephant got 2 already and in the beta, there already have been 3 possible groups. (any mistakes are due to low knowledge of the english language and my lazyness, to look every word up in the dictionary)

to be fair the Zoopedia say the various species will enrich each other and so gain a bonus

Other may tolerate each other but not get a bonus? for instance would flamingos live quite happily in a lake and pea fowl wander around the shore? they may not enrich each other but may tolerate which would be up to us to find our

Alternatively they might stress each other out due to differences

there was a bar for wellbeing for this kind of social interaction, its not only said in the zoopedia, it worked in the beta for the above listet animals. their wellbeing was better with the listed animals mixed within their respective groups. there is nothing to find out, it was as said in zoopedia, no mysteries, its implemented. you had to take in account the overall space requirement and the inner species social requirements, enrichments etc.. its just a combination of reading, understanding and implementing.

had a look at the zoopedia again and the page is titled Interspecies enrichment and I have watched a few early development video and it talks about how the animal will enrich one another (ie zebra and African buffalo are both herding animals) So being in with a Zebra might be as good as a rubbing post for an african buffalo which could be important to know when your early lack of research limits your enrichment item availability

So other animals might get on but not provide enrichment?

yes, but its already written in my other 2 posts ^^ 2 elephants have a sozial bonus for themselfs but get additional for 2 buffalos, another for 2 zebras and so on. the thing is, that the space requirements will go up, and some species need more then 2 of their own species to be as happy as posible. in the beta the big mixed enclosures where very annoying sometimes, bcause you had to micromanage the whole time(on top of the bugs), remove the 2nd or 3rd male offspring etc. also the springboks where stressed all the time, due to to close and too many visitors. also, the habitat requirements of that groups of anmals are nearly the same, so that was not a problem. What i dont know is, if the mixed habitats are more attractive to visitors, it seemed so, but i am not shure.

there were many animal wellbeing statistics, i cant remember all of them but there was: food-enrichment, toy-enrichment, sozial (inner species) sozial (inter species), space, cleanlyness, plants, and habitat (not shure about the last two) all of them counts as overall wellbeing

to be fair you completely edited your comment :) so you explained it and then changed it :)

But yes the well being is better with Listed animals but no comment if it is possible with unlisted but will gain no, for want of a better word" bonus

There is a difference between living together and enriching lives - just ask the wife!

yes i have to edit them, because there already so many mistakes in it, that it would be unreadable otherwise. ^^ and you shouldnt marry a lion, when you are a springbok

you changed the content as well as the spelling :)

I realise completely how the interspecies wellbeing of some animals is improved by having other like time aroiund them

What I am asking is if the physical habitats could be matched which I accept might be difficult might some animals tolerate each other and get no bonus

for instance (and I don't quite know why I would do it could peafowl and tortoise live together gaining no enrichment whatsoever but they don't upset each other either?

Until we see the game we wont know - but its something I will be trying - forgot to do it in BETA but I don't trust of believe in anything whatsoever in BETA will make the game anyway (maybe zoopedia but that's it)
