Dig sites question

I do not know if this thread is already in the forum .. so well, I start

My doubt about the excavation sites will be unblocked by randomly or by a sequence already programmed or will they let us choose the site like in JPOG?

It seems that they are unlocked by advancing in the game and I don't think we can choose the dig site.

I think it has to do with the star rating on each island.

It's all speculation at the moment, but like others I imagine they'll unlock over time / ratings / money etc. I'm pretty sure I've seen different numbers available with some "locked" in videos, but can't be sure on that.
