So i went along to the Musuem of Natural History yesterday in London with a friend and i thought i would post the pictures of some of the fossils up here on the site for you all.
Pterosaur Skeleton (Pterodon itself i believe)
Stegosaurus Skeleton in the Earth Hall
Various Icthyosaurs (Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures, it was difficult to do as they are glass fronted and the room has skylights)
More Icthys
A Mystriosaurus skeleton (A type of ancient sea crocodile from the Jurassic)
Another Icthy skeleton
Start of the Plesiosaurs and Pliosaurs - Attenborosaurus
Pliosaur and biggest skeleton in the hall - Rhomaleosaurus; with my friend Dane as a handy scale guide there
Very small Plesiosaur species (They were only about a metre or less long...)
Mosasaurus skull
Mosasaur skeleton
Mantellisaurus from the Isle of Wright (A relative of Iguanodontids)
Rexy and Trike skull
Animatronic Rexy
Dromeasaurs
Galliimimus
The skull of Pachycephalosaurus
The Thagomizer of Euoplocephalus; an Ankylosaur (Incidentally a Thagomizer is the sceientific term for things like the tail club or spike tail)
Polocanthus spike impression and a casting of the skin texture from its armour
Triceratops brow horn cores.
Stegosaur skeleton (I didn't find the name, and i don't think its a stegosaurus due to the plate shape. I think it might a Dravidosaurus)
Parasaurolophus skull (Happy on its own for once)
Skull of the Centrosaurus
Albertosaurus from underneath
Albertosaurus skeleton
Allosaurus Skeleton (I believe it is an adult)
I believe this is a Massopondylus , A Pro-sauropod
Edmonotosaurus (Oddly enough this skeleton did not show evidence of a head crest...i looked pretty hard for it )
Iguanodon; with my handy scale friend in shot ^^
Coelophysis Skeleton
Trike skeleton
Camarasaurus Skeleton
One of my personal fav dinos - Baryonyx
These next pictures come from a fossil museum on the Isle of Wright and include some of the dinosaurs not yet in the game from here.
An Opthalmosaurus skeleton
Megalosaurus, one of the earliest dino fossil discoveries in Britain
Tooth examples from Spinosaurus compared to the local dinosaurs - Baryonyx and Neovenator
Iguanodon teeth and lower jaw showing the horny beak
The central diorama had various recreations on show
Here is on of the newest discoveries, a type of sauropod unique to the island, with my friend Brandon as a useful size scale
Neovenator; a unique isle of wright Carnivore with my friend here as size refenerance
A recreation of Eotyrannus
A recreation of Polocanthus
