Dinosaurs Dinosaur Categories for the Hammond Creation Lab

This is something I've been wanting since I first played around with the Creation Lab. Given the robust dinosaur roster in the game (currently 68 species...), I think there should be a better way to pick which dinosaur types I want to choose from, narrowing my selection screen so that I'm not scrolling through all 68 species to find the one I want.

I propose the following categorical tabs (and their contents) being added to the creation lab:

It doesn't even have to be the exact categories I've listed here, we could instead use dinosaur family names to group them more accurately; but we need at least something to group and filter the dinosaurs to make this process easier. I'm looking for something that's simple, yet not too complicated. I've broken down the medium herbivore tab into 2 and made a few revisions here and there thanks to your advice :) I'd love to find a workable solution to this and possibly get something like this implemented in the game.

I love it m8 I think you’ve categorised it almost perfectly, however one alteration.... Suchomimus

For starters in game it’s smaller than Allosaurus, and even scaled up its too specialised to count amongst the other large carnivores, they’re all Apexes I like Suchomimus I just don’t feel like it fits the bill for a large carnivore, it should be a large medium carnivore nothing more kinda the Herrerasaurus of mediums, if you get what I mean?

Edit: May I also add that Suchomimus can be killed by the Iguanodon another reason it can’t really be classified as a large carnivore... anything that doesn’t one shot the Iguanodon IMHO can’t be classified as a large carnivore :)

Thanks for clarifying, for some reason I thought Suchomimus was big XD...my mistake.

I strongly agree, maybe even being able to divide the medium herbivores into "armored" and "non-armored." Just a being a little nit-picky, but Nigersaurus is definitely not a large herbivore.
Ohhhh, I really like that idea! Alright, I'll update the list, and re-post it up top.

Awesome idea!! However all ceratopsians count as armored erbivores, cause they can't be killed by small carnivores; Nigersaurus too, although I understand why it would be very odd to have it in either one of Armored or Large Herbivores. The solution may be what you also suggested in the main post, use dinosaur family names. However the idea is brilliant, no matter how they could be grouped.

hm isnt there already kinda a category-system for the herbivores ingame with the paleo-botany, maybe they could use that

I don't think this could be much use, because it pretty much lefts out carnivores. Anyway, more filters are needed: sorting them by size, diet or family is as much needed as sorting them by era and geography (continent at least). Although I would settle with just a search tool, maybe so many options for a new feature will delay it for another whole year.

yeah i know the carnivores are left out of it, i just meant that they could use it as a base-system and expand it on the carnovores aswell instead of adding a completly new category-system,
