Dinosaurs General Gameplay Dinosaur models, animations and sounds

Improvements for JWE2

Sounds:

More variety in sounds, calls and roars, obviously all of them should have a movie canon accuracy

T.rex: JP1 Breakout classic roars, final JP1 roar and other sounds that appears on TLWJP, introduction

Velociraptor: Classic calls introduction

Spinosaurus: More accurate roar and other sounds introduction

Parasaurolophus: Accurate TLWJP sounds introduction

Triceratops: More sound variety based in movie canon introduction

Animations:

Carnivores in general: Should have a consistent tail move, without tail moving down, especially when dinosaurs simply walk, run and drink water. Carnivores should have "S" tail format, mainly T.rex and Carnotaurus.

Triceratops: JP and JW versions should have a more higher tail (model and move), moving away from the ground, mainly the JP variant

Something to be said for ambient sounds, I still recall when Frontier first put in the Brachis and Tyrannosaurs ambient sounds, it dramatically improved my perception of the game. Nostalgia and more immersion, it was a small thing but it did a lot. I would love for more of this to keep coming, especially restoring the Spinosaurus' original roar which no one seems to have accomplished given the loss of the original audio files.

Also, new varied dino sound effects like the amazing roar of the Suchomimus would be great.

Absolutely! Awesome ideas, it's good to think about the other dinosaur species too, as we sometimes focus so much on some, that we ended up forgetting others. Suchomimus deserves more variety of sounds, and as you said, Spinosaurus really needs some adjustments in the sounds. I would love to see variations in the roar of Spinosaurus. In JP3 we see a relative diversity of Spino sounds. I notice the intensity of the roar as well. We can see that on T.rex, Velociraptor and even Stegosaurus!

The most famous species have those classic sounds, but still, we see for each of them, a decent variation in vocalization, which is easily perceived in carnivores! Ambient sounds give more immersion and realism so i'd like to see this being explored in other species as well. It would be interesting

They were really good about varied sound effects in the original Jurassic trilogy. Every instantly knows a Dilo when they hearing it hooting, or the sound of an approaching tyrannosaur or the call of a Brachi. Spinosaurus had a haunting depth of roars, but I would say Frontier set the bar with Suchomimus, kind of sounds like a baby being devoured by a demon. Still, its those little details of how the animals respond to different things that would help. The Rex has quite a few thanks to getting those Lost World audio files added in.

We just need more sounds for inquisitiveness, playfulness, warnings, illness, injured, angry, etc. I'm thinking about a Stegosaur giving you an auditory cue if its about to retaliate against you, breathes life into the dinos and makes the gameplay more in-depth with all sorts of subtle hints and attention to detail.

Herbivores are definitely those left wanting in the sound department though. We have a lot of high-pitched and boisterous roars, but how about more growls and low pitch sounds, those are pretty unnerving in their own right. Although I think they tried with Carcharodontosaurus which was an interesting experiment. I definitely love the idea of more sound effects, you pick up on a lot of stuff subconsciously.

I totally agree. Remember that weird air-hiss that was added to the T. Rex roar? I remember watching the IGN video and getting very frustrated when the audio team mentioned having to guess what the sound was made of. It's been well known for years that the T. Rex roar was a mix of lion, tiger, alligator and baby elephant. There was no "slowed down pig". Pig was used to create the male T. Rex sounds in TLW. But, then it was mixed with "several weird Costa Rican mammals" that the sound team didn't know the names of. So I wouldn't even try to recreate that sound without getting in touch with Gary Rydstrom.

It frustrated me that they kept saying that they referenced the films themselves when the DVDs and Blu Ray's are a treasure trove of BTS material. 2 particular standouts are World of Jurassic Park on the TLW disc and Dinosaur Turntables on the JP3 disc.
