To be completely honest, the current feeding system makes no real sense... it would be a lot smarter and safer if the feeders were attached to the side of the pens like the various attractions, then zoo keepers wouldn't have to enter the pen at all. Another idea I had was a feeding system similar to how the Indominus rex was fed... food is kept in a feeder outside then pen, then lifted and carried into the pen by cable and dropped into the cage. The setup process would require two steps; placing the feeder on the fence and then placing the drop spot, which would work like placing a power line.
I'm no expert, but I do doubt it would work this way... the tether holding the goat would likely be weak enough so that if a dinosaur did snag the goat it would safely break...
To be honest that feeding system is not entirely their fault. They just adopted it from JPOG, they didnt invent it and it already didnt make sense there. It doesnt bother me all that much but it does create some issues with potnetial mechanics like this that could improve immersion and involvement
no dude ... the most realistic way would be dumping meat over the fence from a big truck... imagine how much money it would cost to sedate a large carnivore every time you gotta feed him not to mention you're risking the health of the animal by keep sedating him .....why do all that when you can just dump a big load of meat over the fence and be done with it
I agree with that, but not with the airdrop thing. Having a hatch on the fences as a feeder instead would make sense. What is implied is that currently there is an underground area of the feeders where the food is stored, so my question is why do we need to restock them at all? I dont think we needed to do that in JPOG, they just costed money every time they would dispense food, we can get by on the implication that there is an underground tunnel system that allows the feeders to be safely restocked, what prevents us from thinking that is the fact we have to manually restock them. That's also the reason that all the functions of the ranger team were dedicated to the helicopter in JPOG, as the only thing the jeep would do there is take photos. It made much more sense that the ACU handled tranquing, immunization and healing. They also have darts, why not?. If i really have to advocate for anything, it would be a return to that whole system and a slight revamp of how many ACU teams we can have in one building.
At the very least i would just remove the rangers having to restock anything and just have it subtract money from our funds every time the feeder resets.
