Dinosaurs getting stuck and starving - still happening after patch

Just seems like their not really addressing the issues that have clearly plagued this game since it was released.
Rather than see yet another expansion pack it would have been better for them to concentrate on fixing the existing ones.
We're doing our best to resolve these issues, and we've rolled out potential fixes for it with every patch we've done. We're continuously working on it as we get reports in from players.

It blows my mind we are still having these major issues so far after release. I had stopped playing until the new DLC because the Dinos freezing and starving to death and the phasing through fences is a game breaker. I went back and tried some of my older chaos theory maps that were at 95%. Was finally making head room when a gallimimus phased through the fence and after returning it to the pen, still showed a Dino danger until I noticed my money had dropped several million since I had it on fast forward. So I guess I’m going to just delete every old save file I have. I should not have to reload or try a work around for these bugs. This is on Xbox One with all the DLC and updated installed. Please fix this game because I want to love it like I did the last one.

Jens, is it possible that this could be related to a pathing issue that affects the ranger teams as well?

I have a park where the ranger cannot reach a shark feeder, despite having a road that goes directly to it.

The issues in this thread sound similar to what I'm experiencing, only involving different elements of the game.

I can't be sure, but I can try suggesting it to our Q&A team

same issue here. i think its something with the shark feeder. i have to check it manually as the ranger are never finding a path to it.

I honestly think it's decorations that are doing it. The clip range on some of them are huge.

For example, if you put a tree next to a wide path, the clip range will make that entire path un-traversable to dinosaus - I think jeeps also, but I haven't set out to test it thoroughly. I think with some of the clip sizes, it's throwing off their pathing.

I know when I first start building a park, pathing issues for both the dinosaus and jeeps are pretty non existent, but once you start decorating, it becomes interesting.

A fine argument here for adding no-clip to decorations! 😀 (just saying lol). Honestly, it would solve more problems then create. Or just add as a sandbox option.

That sound realy hard.
never personaly had that erything was stucked, but it feels like this bug happens more often than before the last update/patch.
Let's see what happens tomorrow after the new patch.
maybe it's fixed then and you can calm down a bit ;)
Not it’s not hard, it’s not a free game, people payed money for a product that broke and the developer can’t figure out how to fix it, it‘s unacceptable.

I guess I can't disagree with you there.
As a PC gamer, I have to say that I've rarely had problems with bugs so far. But since the big problems mainly occur on the old consoles, I would say that it was once again a classic case of greed for money.
"Due to corona, not enough people got a next-gen console, so let's just release the game on the old ones too, so that we can at least make some profits, it'll be fine."
In this case obviously not.
The worst that can happen is, of course, that the problems are no longer fixed and they'll lose the JurassicWorld license and of course the trust of their players. And depending on how that affects the entire financial situation, that can also mean the end of frontier.
Not exactly what I would like to see, but not impossible either...

Exactly, I’m happy you are not experiencing issues on PC, I don’t do PC precisely to not have to deal with bugs but here we are… in my case I’m not much of a gamer I play like 3 games and I buy a new console when the game I want is not available on the console I currently have, I would have totally tried to get a PS5 if the game was not available on PS4 (also if they had made clear that there are sandbox differences between the two versions, but that’s a different story), and I would totally try to get one now if you could transfer the PS4 save to PS5, that’s how much I like(d) this game. The license is probably a deal connected to the movies, my bet is that will end this year and after that we all know licensed games don’t get any support so this is all incredibly disappointing, and I wish in the future Universal gives the IP to another developer for sure.

And to make it worse, they complaint that their costumers are complaining too much.. unbelievable

They just have to hurry now.
While trying to fix such bugs now they have the problem that many consoles crashes while playing. Too many system crashes can also damage the consoles. And when that happens, a barrage of lawsuits will be poured down on them....

In any case, you should always be friendly and understanding with your customers, because there can always be a couple of angry people who contact their lawyers faster than you can see.

Ahah not sure that’s true, easily on the hundreds of PS4 crashes but other games play just fine bug free! Maybe in the US where lawsuits seem as accessible as the other freaky stuff you can get there, but not in the UK, I’m old enough to get a lawyer but not sure the majority of their affected fan base is, I‘m actually trying to find some consumer body in the UK where to complaint, but ultimately don’t think it would lead to anything as there‘s likely clauses on the t&c that don’t make them liable for it, I don’t know, still researching

Of course you don't stand a chance against Universal & Frontier as a single person.
In the best case scenario, you would probably "only" lose all your money. Unless you're a multi-billionaire.
But never underestimate the power of many.

And the thing about the crashes was of course exaggerated. I just wanted to describe the worst possible case. But it is very unlikely that it will happen 😅

It's not just land or flying animals either. I've just had a case where a plesiosaur has ended up outside the lagoon underground. Trying to dart and airlift but the ground is in the way. But the territory range as shown on the overview map is in the sky. Just waiting on it dying and decaying as I think its the only way to get it out of the park.

Series X. Pennsylvania map. Game with early cretaceous pack. No Dominion or camp cretaceous yet.

Yup this is one of the reasons i gave up in this game ages ago. Why people keep playing? escapes me. Im so tired of companies trying to squeeze $$$ all the time instead focusing on quality of life improvements and fixes.. soooo tired.

Hey symphonic jedi! :)

Was this a recent occurrence? Could you let me know about the size of the lagoon, what speed you were playing at, if this happened off-camera or while you were looking at the Plesiosaur? Any additional information should help :)

Hi Jens,

Sorry for the delay in responding, I don't come to the forums very often.

The event involving the plesiosaur occurred either the day I made the post or the day before as it was still ongoing at that point. As it happens I had a reoccurrence involving an Elasmosaurus from the same lagoon just last night. The lagoon in question consists of 7 lagoon sections and currently houses 4 Elasmosaurus, 2 Kronosaurus and 5 Plesiosaurus. I always play at standard 1x speed, occasionally pausing if there is a sudden dinosaur escape to assess the situation. I can only presume it happens off camera as I only noticed it when looking at the map overview. After a bit of mucking about with the terrain tools I managed to lower the ground sufficient to expose the animal allowing the Capture Team to tranquilise it and thus allow me to return it to its lagoon.

In case its relevant, the park I have built currently houses a total of 317 animals spread across 74 species. I have had spurious escapes from intact powered enclosures by members of the following species; Albertosaurus, Baryonyx, Cearadactylus, Coelophysis, Dilophosaurus, Elasmosaurus, Gallimimus, Icthyosaurus, Kentrosaurus, Plesiosaurus, Maaradactylus, Struthiomimus, Suchomimus, Tapejara and Troodon at numerous points throughout the build of the park. I can't recall the precise population of animals within the park when it started to happen.

These are only the ones that I can remember. There may have been others. I am playing the sandbox mode as close to normal gameplay as possible (i.e Infinite Power off, Status Checks on etc.)

I am wiling to provide a copy of the save file if necessary if there is a way to do so from Xbox.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Edited: added Albertosaurus to list off spurious escapes from intact enclosures.

Currently "Enjoyed" this bug widespread on all dinos & Rangers in a sandbox save I am beginning to stream. as a work around I was able to verify my games files on steam (PC) & it seemed so far to be a quickfix workaround. I know not all platforms can do this, but verifying files seemed to reset everything in 1 go without having to rebuild from scratch as even demolishing and rebuilding buildings did not help with the bug. so it might be a deeper issue than just pathing... a logic conflict perhaps when maxing out multiple ranger/med unit building workflows (purely guessing)? but the connection it has to the dinos I do not know. I noticed the trouble started with the shark feeders not being filled (I made an Island in the lagoon) and propagated to the aviary with my pteros starving to death, and then everyone began to starve to death despite having the settings active that should've made that impossible. Compys were the first to start dying off wholesale by being locked in place in this manner, but very soon it was widespread across the park with all rangers & med units locked in place as well. Putting multiple ranger stations assigned to a single point, (like lagoon & aviary) could be problematic when one ranger team is not sufficient to handle larger sized populations within attractions. This Game has a lot of potential and hopefully soon this issue can be resolved in a timely manner. I hope this helps :)

June 2023 and these issues are still happening. It's turned into a farce now. I've been sat watching 3 marine animals complain about not having any shark, whilst sat next to the shark.

How has a fix not been created yet?

July '23 and this glitch is still happening. Are you going to offer refunds to the people who paid for this game? I feel like it's the right thing to do seeing as you clearly aren't fixing it. ,
