Disable HUD keybinding?

Took a look around and still didn't see what I'm looking for... can I bind a button to Disable HUD? I know it can be done ctrl-alt-g but I'd like to be able to toggle it on and off with the joystick while I'm scanning for exobiology. Couldn't find it in the keybinding options.

PS. i unfortunately have to recommend against using sites like softonic etc as they sometimes bundle their installers with search bars etc.

Appreciated, but I was hoping to just do it in the game options. There are 27,000 keybindings to knock you into a stupor when trying to configure your input devices, but not one for this. Weird.

A great many years ago a colleague at work got a brand new Astra GTE mk2 with the digital dashboard, the first time he switched the headlights on his dashboard disappeared. It turned out the dimmer switch was set to its off position but had no effect if the headlights were off. This apparently freaked him out for a while.

Perhaps the HUD designer had a similar experience which they don’t want to be easily duplicated in the game..

I was playing around with it and noticed that one time, the 3 Panel didn't return when I flipped the hud back on with ctrl-alt-g. Had to relog to see it again.

No, to my knowledge it's not possible to bind this via the in-game options. There are a few hardcoded key bindings in ED that can't be changed, Ctrl+F (show FPS), Ctrl+B (show bandwidth data) or F10 (bmp screenshot) being other ones.

If you use a joystick, it probably has some kind of config software. You could bind a joystick button to Ctrl+Alt+G.

Voice attack script is easy to make. Also use voice attack for many other functions, it's great. Or add an Elgato Streamdeck to your rig and do it with that.
