Disabled visitors

To be perfectly honest I think disabled guests and strollers are too much. I rarely ever see disabled guests at theme parks because they can't do much there. Same with babies or young children with strollers. You hardly ever see them in theme parks because they are loud and their aren't any rides that they can go on. I think that there are more important things that need to go into the ride.

I don't mean to bash the idea, it would add some sort of reality, I just believe there isn't much of a need for this.

I agree al72094, especially with the wheelchairs. Although Minnion's idea was pretty cool.

Disabled visitors would add realism to the game, but I think it is too realistic and not needed, other things are more important. Maybe as a expansion pack or game pack like thing later on?

+1[big grin] I have to admit that I would love to see this implemented in PC because it might add to management as well. But I understand that most people can wait for it (as do I) and that it could be implemented at a later state of the game.

All this would do is complicate pathing and require players to never build stair cases, thats not management, and most people are already annoyed that paths are not easier to build. What is fun about seeing disabled guests complain they cant access certain rides?? This isnt a hospital simulator, and I personally would like this game to stay cheerful

Theme Hospital is one of my favorite sim management games, and there are many things from that game I would like to see added into planet coaster (like the staff training feature), but having disabled/injured guests does not seem very cheerful for a game like this, I mean a lot of people miss the ability to kill/drown guests like we could in RCT but thats just not how PC was designed

Fun management would be like how in the game Theme Hospital you can build training rooms for staff to learn new skills, you have a variety of staff to choose from each with different personalities rather than being all the same, you can decorate the break room and if its too small it gets overcrowded... or like in Parkitect where you have staff only paths, stock requirements, and the scenery is actually judged for being to repetitive... or like in RCTClassic how you could have a variety of park shapes and the ability to purchase land (thats actually fun management)

OH AND MORE IMPORTANTLY WE NEED ELEVATORS FIRST AND FOREMOST! but please leave disabilities to reality and let the game remain a fun escape. I dont want to constantly see "guests unable to access ride, add more paths without stairs" or "disabled guests are reporting thefts at record numbers, as pickpockets see them as easy targets" thats not what PC is about, I mean whats next specialized cars for over weight guests?

I think it really would add to management as you would have to change things in your parks as you yourself said. I agree that it could not be fun for all though. But it would add to realism.
It could be implemented like this: If you change parts of your park or everything of it to suit the needs of disabled people, you can win a price in game for suiting disabled needs - it could be connected with a sum you would get from the government and it may unlock a steam award or something like this. Also, it would generate more families entering the park. If you don't want to change your park like this (as a lot of theme parks do but gladly not all of them) you don't and play like before. So the player would have the opportunity to play like this and try out these management aspects. You can still build stairs, but you need also some ramps here and there.

As mentioned before this all could wait until a later state of the game when everything else has been fixed and implemented.[big grin]

What has drowning people to do with this topic at all?[weird]

About the buying land topic: I personally hated it in RCT because this really adds nothing to management.[shocked] You can't build on land because you don't own it. You wait for having enough money (which is kinda easy). then you buy land and build there. There is no management at all.[shocked] BUT I would agree it would be interesting having not always a square area but some corners to build around.[big grin] But this would only be realisitc when there would be something on the map where you really would have to build around which would be hard on the CPU again. But all this belongs in another thread.[big grin]

Actually, this is a really good idea (for a very late state of the game when there is nothing more to fix or implement).[big grin]

it would add to realism.

What about when coasters crash? guests go flying, and then magically re-appear on the paths uninjured... this VIDEO GAME is not meant to mimic reality, and having injured or disabled guests does not add to the fun. Like I said, many people miss creating "death parks" like we could in RCT, but thats just not what this game is about. I don't want to see a bunch of disabled guests complaining about not access rides. There are also many parks in real life that do not have 100% wheelchair access.

Like I said, whats next? having special cars for overweight guests? Seems like your discriminating here

Different strokes for different folks

As mentioned before this all could wait until a later state of the game when everything else has been fixed and implemented.[big grin]

I think you are missing the point here... this is not something that would add any level of fun, it would only make paths building more annoying. But sure, maybe someday somebody will make a mod for this, I Just dont think the devs should put effort into this as many people would actually complain about it. Most people are begging for simpler paths and improved path tools, not more difficult path creation

My point being is, I disagree with you... look at this thread https://forums.planetcoaster.com/sh...io-Editor-Land-Shapes-and-Purchasing-Property

I mentioned quite a few other ideas too, but to me purchasing land is very important for the scenario editor and recreating classic RCT parks. Thats why its a big deal to me. And I will repeat this again: I do not play video games to mimic reality, I Play them to escape reality. If GTA was more realistic it would be boring and unpopular, but GTA is fun bcuz it lets you do things you cant do in real life, imagine everytime you crashed your car if you had to sit in a wheelchair for 2 weeks lol zzz nobody would play GTA anymore

[weird] How would I do that, YOU are the one who doesn't want to have disabled people in parks because it wouldn't be "fun" [weird][blah] And if you read my post properly I even said, that trains (or one row of a train) for overweight people isn't a bad idea but like wheelchair access for a later state of the game.

That's totally fine.[big grin]

I don't have to imagine, my dad sat in a wheelchair for 15 years until he died. I just came out of my wheelchair after sitting in it for over a year. What's funny about that QUOTE=breezerHOG;214185] if you had to sit in a wheelchair for 2 weeks lol zzz [/QUOTE] (red marked by me) is completely beyond my imagination.[blah]

I'm talking about GTA and video games though... and if you want to be realistic, my grandparents are in wheelchairs, I've taken them to the zoo, they've gone to amusement parks and had trouble walking, not all places are wheelchair friendly. I know my local park isnt

I know, a lot of parks I've been to weren't. Some even have wheelchair access but are plastered with cobblestone [weird][rolleyes]. this thread is only a suggestion and as said several times now I agree that there are more important things to be done, fixed and implemented first, that it would be problematic to programme etc. I agree that it wouldn't be fun to everybody. But see it from this side: most coasters can't be used by disabled people anyway (i.e. heart disease). So you wouldn't have to change the whole park but only some areas or rides. If the message that people want wheelchair access annoys you, I agree. There are already a lot of messages in PC (thirsty, theft, vendors, entrance not accessible etc) that annoy myself, too. I hope that there will be a check box for different messages which we can uncheck in future.[big grin]

It's a good idea. Maybe not for release but with dlc, expansion, patches this could be integrated. Also the fact that there are families with babies.

Maybe a dlc where disabled guests and families with babies getting its own part. And where the game adjusted to the new features. That means if we got wheelchairs we have to got facilities where to borrow. Or we need new toilets. Or we need lower sales bars for wheelchair. Or special places and entrances in shows for disabled guests or babiecars. Something in that way.

So a DLC for wheelchair ramps and elevator lifts, with some wheelchair friendly rides?

This is a viable idea that would really bring Planet Coaster to the next level. Simulation Evolved right? The heart and soul of a theme park is the guests, this would bring a new management aspect to the game, ensuring that enough attractions are accessible for guests that are using a wheelchair, win park awards for being accessible and wheel-chair friendly. Guests who are using wheelchairs can queue up at the exit of a ride, instead of waiting in line (from my experience Six Flags parks do this, not sure about other parks), it would simplify some of the guests complexity. This would also be a good time to introduce more transport rides like elevators, chairlifts and monorails.

Fingers crossed that this could be something that Frontier is looking at and can give a try to bring it into the game.

I REALLY think this needs to be added, as someone who volunteers for a disabled campsite (and someone with a disability) I can 100% say that we go to theme parks. There needs to be more representation in this game (and PlanZoo)
