Disadvantages of NOT winging up?

And those are? HUD info and easier navigation?

And generally higher killing speed. If you hunt in a target rich environment (e.g. CZ), the higher killing speed of a -coordinated- (coordination makes all the difference here) wing more than compensates for the XP split.

In that case, more important than being or not being in a wing is to pay attention to the enemy ranks. If you want full XP, be sure to only fight enemies with higher rank than yours!

Very much this. Once you hit deadly, most targets contribute very little to your advancement.

I must try winging up with someone at some point, still not done it/don’t know how/billy no mates... 😢

I’d just be happy you have someone to play with op! 😂

In the unlikely case that our timing matches (this weekend I might only manage to be on tonight for a few hours, after midnight, the rest of the weekend my wife planed away), feel free to also add me and we can arrange. I also usually fly a ship with SLF hangar, if a fighter is the preferred option.

Just contact me in game and we'll see how the timing works out. :)

If you want to rank up combat hunting Scout ships in AX Conflict Zones is one of the best ways to do this, plus it helps with the war effort.

There are always 2-3 CMDRs at the nav beacon in Alpha Centauri. That's because Sol likes to give kill pirate missions for Alpha Centauri but since the mission USS spawns at the other star 0.22ly away everyone goes into the nav beacon to hunt pirates.

Join a group.

Many of my best times have been in wings.

The other best times have been killing players from enemy groups.

And NOTHING beats wing vs wing in a CZ over a system you care about.
