Discovery Scanner 1 - Creating a Galaxy with Dr Anthony Ross

This is the same lecture as the one you saw at FX, but with the ability for Ant to be a little more descriptive, and show some things off using in-game examples.

As for rehearsals... errrm, we had a chat about it. The first one was actually rehearsed quite a lot!

It was :)

SUPER excited about this, and about the whole Discovery Scanner concept in general. There's so much incredible tech' in Elite: Dangerous. Personally I'd ask that you don't try to dumb it down too much. Just let the dev's talk, in depth, about what they do ... 10% might go over our heads but the other 90% will be pure gold!

Will defo watch this at some point, as I think the Galaxy design in Elite is pretty amazing. Never really done much exploring, but I did a tourist run a few weeks ago, and it was interesting seeing the more unusual system formations that I would come across every now and then. Hopefully FD have time and resources to create some new explorer tools in 2018 to take advantage of the great foundation they have created.

As ever with 7pm livestreams I'll be travelling home from work but assuming it will be automatically archived I'll probably watch it over a brew and a bacon butty at the weekend.

Also have to say he has great taste in old skool games...

Lunch is 1pm – 2pm. Involved is typically a combination of eating, stretching my legs, napping, and having a blast on something in my Steam library. Recent examples include The Chaos Engine, Syndicate, and Carmageddon

Hooray for everything. \o/

Question.., During this series will we also be looking into any future refinements of the Stellar forge?

Excellent. I've been looking forward to this all week. It's a great way to kick off what's likely to be a very interesting series.
