I tried using the disco honk as a ring-tone for txt messages. But it doesn't work because my phone can't put out that much bass and I can't walk around with a 2000watt subwoofer and amplifier all day. Bummer.

You'd need a properly powerful radar burst, to image back the system anyway ..

I could do without the honk too though to be honest - it's a comedy soundeffect that should have been replaced on release. I'd like it if there was some kind of scanner flash on using the discovery scanners, like the broadcast active ping disrupted the scanner sensors, and a related big flash in SC visible to other ships for the whole discovery scanner range.

I have the Honk assigned to a foot pedal (3 pedals, secondary fire, change fire groups, and primary fire; that way I have my hands free on the xbox controller to do the flying, with +50%/-50% assigned to the triggers).
After the initial honk, I can just keep my foot down and it will honk again, and again, and again...

EDIT: I wrote foot pedal to properly distinguish the pedals from non foot operated pedals, of course.
