Serious question.
This thread was created to collect opinions of the situation after the server side removal of uber waepons from NPC's.

We now have the second patch to fix other issues. Do we want a new thread for the new situation?

Since the situation has changed, I would say a new thread would be a good idea.

Thinking of carrying a 1,000,000 bounty on my head at all times just in case too ;)

Though Han Solo's was 14 mil, so I may have to up the ante. :D

I stayed PowerPlay pledged just to hone my mad T-7 flying skills (which is the only ship I ever lost to NPC violence .. twice *shakes fist angrily at sirius hobos*) in the nearly-harmless pre-2.1 world. :D

While I'm a bit concerned about the future of PowerPlay, if the agressive, well armed, control system loitering NPCs stay around and kick the non-combat pilot where it hurts, but it does offer some sort of "opt in higher difficulty mode". And while 2.0 PowerPlay could be played casually, it might be different in 2.1 with the remaining agressive, high level NPCs from other factions patroling your "safe" home system.
So unlike all the "PowerPlay needs to be better integrated into the universe" posts made, I'm all for "turn PowerPlay into the 'hardcore Game of Thrones'", where a small group of highly dedicated players rule their corner of the galaxy and leave the casual player alone in his base-game.

The tools are all there, they just need to be tuned.

Err just out of interest..which system do you hang around in? Answering that one on the forums should keep your life fairly interesting! :p

OK.

just setting up a new thread, without poll for the time being (I can add one later if needed - luxury of being a Mod :)).

When it's done I'll close this with a link to the new thread.

LOL.

It's busy on the forums and the new thread is dropping like a sperm whale.

Reopening this and will close it a bit later :)

I write this in this thread, as it happened to me yesterday. And I don't open a bug report, as I don't have a movie as evidence.
For here, I hope, my word should be valid enough.

- I was solving a 'pick up our stuff'-mission.
- After collecting all 4 requested cannisters, I got the completition-confirmation and a warning that a hitman is looking for me.
- Subsequently, I was interdicted by a 'Dangerous' FAS.
- Unfortunately, while the NPC maneuvered well and used chaff and chield cells - he didn't fire a single shot at me!
- Weapons seemed to be present at his vessel and there was no sign of any engineering displayed.

Is this a very uncommon behaviour? Did something like this happen to you, too?

Or is it a well known bug? (I tried to find something related in the bugs forum, but wasn't successfull in finding any entry. As I couldn't add anything substantial without evidence anyway, I didn't search hard, though.)

That's a bug and you shoud report it. It has happened quite frequently, when ship using fixed weapons used wrong tactics to approach enemy.
