If you over shoot in super cruse and are going to fast pull a big 360 loop it will slow you down as well. Also planet gravity will effects your speed to the nearer you get to one it slow you down.
BINGO! That is the button I use. The system will give you the SAFE indication when you get below 1Mm distance from target destination.
But I am still finding the speed adjustments in Supercruise kind of strange. The system always warns you to slow down when you are far too close to the target to do so with out overshooting. I would think the SLOW DOWN warnings should appear much sooner to give you enough time to lower your speed.
Keep the throttle in the top of the blue zone on approach then when you get 10 seconds out reduce throttle to 70-75%. Gives a perfect approach pretty much every time. On PC I have a hot key binding specifically to set speed to 75%. Sadly you can't do that on xbox.
Yes the best way to do it t unsure you never over shoot is to make sure your at or above 0:10 till target is reached. As you get used to it you can push the limits more with 0:06 ect. But 0:10 will INSURE you never over shoot.
I've followed all the above all the time.. throttle in the blue, aim for the station but quite a lot of the time I get "SLOW DOWN" messages and then overshoot... its about 50:50 that it happens ... am I doing something wrong?
just insure you stay at the 0:10. If it drops to single digits then decrease throttle all the way to nothing until it back to 0:10. This is not as efficient as running the timer lower, but it will certainly insure that you NEVER over shoot. And from there you can fine tune and learn the sweet spot.
