I don't want to fly a 'conda, so I've got some work to do.
I've currently got around 52.9Ly on my Asp, stripped down to minimum.
Got to gather lots of engineer materials to get the weight down even more.

The 54-55 range requirement is a bit of a range - what is the max jump we need? Dr. Kai said 220 ly in the video, which means 55 ly. For an Anaconda, it's easy to get more than that with fuel, but the Asp is harder - I am up to 55.53 ly max range at minimum fuel.

I'll get more range out of it, with a > 50% roll on the FSD, but it'd be nice to know what the absolute requirement is.

AFAIK the absolute minimum is 55 ly - that is what Dr. Kaii told the Rock-Rats. If you can get it with fuel-management you should be o.k. .

Domaq, just a quick clarification: 55 Ly on full tank, yes?
As Eisen has said, you can fuel manage and get to 55ly. Shouldn't have to do it on a full tank. In fact I was unable to get the DBX up to 55ly without dropping to 6T of fuel in the tank. The AspX (with a 6T SRV) had to be around 8T of fuel to make it in my build.
.
I don't have any further information if 55ly has to be for multiple non-refueled jumps or just a final boosted jump. Will be taking the anaconda and some fuel limpets just in case someone needs a hit.

I'd like to wish everyone loads of luck on this auspicious endeavor. Since I play under "Iron Man" rules I likely won't be participating since the outcome of a one way mission would mean resetting all my game progress. My self-imposed "Iron Man" status will be relaxed once I reach "Elite" in exploration ... so you never know. The distance between Pioneer and Elite is getting shorter with each day.

Blatant self promotion: I'm organizing an expedition deep into the Cassiopeia constellation that will conclude on December 31st. If anyone is looking to get involved in some group exploration we can use all the help we can get: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/297941-The-Cassiopeia-Project

Cool stuff!

I was in that 'hood way back in the beginnings. Although, at that time, I realised the futility of trying to reach 'AH' and further to the cluster with the basic Asp. Did a quick sweep after the engineers introduction, but alas a better jumper was needed.
I guess I have to start earning some Sirius creds if I want to be playing along. I therefore withhold any signup for now. I'm interested though! :)

Signed up! This endeavor captivated my imagination!
Although I'm not sure I can amass the credits in time to buy an Anaconda. (have 55m cr and enough assets to sell, but I'm against selling my ships :p)
We'll see how many credits I can gain in my trade-python..

The organizers of Distant Stars 3303 have asked the Rock-Rats, renowned for their support in finding materials for Jumponium during the Distant Worlds 3302, to provide a documentation about how a ship with the minimum of 55 ly jumprange can be outfitted and modified using the engineers.

With the goal of 55 ly jumprange only two ships will be suitable for that. The ASP Explorer and the Anaconda. We would recommend to use the Anaconda - it is easier to achieve the needed range and in most cases you will be able to outfit it better for the trip (Heat sinks! Shields and more powerful Thrusters, a boostable Distributor).

The document can be found here.

Another thing you should definitely practice before going on the expedition is how to escape from the neutron-star-jet should the worst happen: a drop from supercruise. CMDR Domaq has summarized his experience with that here.

Should anyone need further assistance please pop into the #prospectors-channel in the Fleetcomm Discord. The Rock-Rats are online daily and will respond quickly.

This post will be amended in the course of the next 2-3 months if needed.

There is a better way to get Data Mined Wake Exceptions than you have detailed.

Find a system in famine. Go there and look for a distribution centre. In the distribution centre 6 sidewinders continually jump in and out. The wakes are created faster than you can scan them. Take a fast ship and an A grade wake scanner as they are all over the place lol.

If people see distribution centres they should post in thread as not all famine systems have them.

I can't take credit for finding this, CMDR alot told me ;)

Just signed up :)

Awesome, thank you very much. I will add that to the document.

Signed in and looking forward to it... need some more tweeking on my Conda "Not For Hire", but should be ok by then. o7

As High Priestess of the Order of Enblackenment, a religion worshipping the Void that was born from our experiences on the Distant Worlds expedition when we were exploring beyond the reaches of Beagle's Point, the Void has called upon me to sign myself up. Oblivion holds no fear for members of the Order for it is a return to our natural state of Void stuff. I have faith that the Void shall return me to the nearest station afterwards. In the same way that when out preaching in our unarmed sidewinders it sends us back whenever we get blown up after interdicting combat ships.

It shall be a privilege to get as far away from the fiery daemons of fusion that interfere with the Void's infinite wisdom.

I shall of course be giving out copies of our pamphlet 'Why you too should help hasten the Heat Death of the Universe'.

I'll not have a 54-55 LY Conda, so I'll just wish all of you who're going good luck.

Well, good luck until you take the Self Destruct Express home.
We don't do it because it is easy! We do it because it is hard...
That's what she said.

The surface view from the 2g worlds is spectacular.

Sweet holy lord off ... that is some view! Is that reachable with a 40LY range? If so:

Pleaeaeaeaeaese PM me the system name. :D

Yeah.. What the hell.

Now, how do we convince FD that if we all self destruct in our SRV's, they should leave our ships as wrecks to be discovered in the future...
