[DISTANT WORLDS] Cartographic & Prospecting Public Service [NEW]

I am due to start adding all the green systems to the interactive galactic map. Is this thread the most recent / most comprehensive list of jumponium rich systems?

Thanks :)
Somewhat difficult to say. First of all, I would use EDDB because the data of the this thread was put into the monster and the monster was put into https://eddb.io/body and I was told by Themroc (EDDB developer) that by now 2/3 of the body information is coming from the community. However, the search & find is focused on body / planet information which can only tell you J1/2/3 boost planets (eg https://eddb.io/body?m=8,11&p=0&t=0&d=0 = all J1 planets). So I'll ask Themroc if he can quickly write a query for you that works on system level and returns you all green systems. Second, there is still quite some data from either this thread or DW members that is not put into EDDB / monster yet. But either 1) best case scenario: the 2.2 update coming in a month all scans are getting retroactively applied and all data becomes active in EDDB making the query mentioned above more complete or 2) more realistic scenario: we will have to add info manually still to make it more complete but still the EDDB query is your best friend. So I'd say this thread contains a good portion but by now only a partial answer of the info you want.

Hi Corbin,

We could give you all the individual names quite accurately, but it would be a nice touch as well if for the green systems found during the Distant Worlds 3302, the contributor names would be appended with "Rock Rats" since almost all of them were at that time.

+1 it was a group effort at the time (not to mention great fun)

How about adding the individual names for the green system contributors AND a separate entry saying "Rock Rats of Distant Worlds" to acknowledge the group effort?

---

If we could do it without overloading ourselves and the map with data, it would have been great to add all the systems surveyed by the Rock Rats during Distant Worlds. We choose to only add the green systems to the map in order to draw the line somewhere. Obviously that does not make the effort of those Rock Rats that did not come across a green system any less.

On the map itself we usually don´t mention the contributing commander in the description of a POI. I can think of only a handful of exceptions to that, like Zulu Romeo being mentioned in the description of Sagittarius A*. Instead we plan to provide a link back to the contributing post (like all Green Systems found during Distant Worlds link back to this thread) and also collect the names of all who have contributed to the mapping project in a common alphabetic list. 'Rock Rats of Distant Worlds' would currently snug in between 'QuixoticKoala' and 'Sapyx' :D

I'll discuss it with the other rock rats. Personally I think your suggestion is great and we could do an effort to retrieve accurate information on which commanders helped in making each system green separately.

Let me know what you agree upon :D <-- I choose this smiley here because it is GREEN!
